MY GF is looking to get "into" her palm and would like to know what good books there are on the subject. She wants something that breaks things down, but also allows her to one day understand some of the lingo that is spoken on sites such as this one, Help her out please, the shear number of questions that she asks me on a daily basis are insurmountable.
Also- any good magazines that focus more on the software rather than the hardware of the palms, I say this since I don't believe that I will be buying another palm for a while, but I always need software
Invite her here to ask questions and PalmTop User for a magazine.

I found a book called "How to Do Everything with Your Sony Clie" at Barnes and Noble. It is part of a series put out by McGraw Hill Osborne. It is really quite good and answers a lot of questions. It would be excellent for a beginner, and is quite helpful for people who have been using PDAs for a while.

Stop by your library and pick up whatever books they have on Palms. The basic lessons apply to all Palm OS devices (except possibly OS5) and you can just return the book when you are done.
Seriously, I have never met anyone who REALLY needed the books too much, mostly just uncertain types who abandon the books quickly when they get using the device.
Generally, encourage her to USE the PDA, then dig into a book/website when you have a question about doing something extra that is not intuitive.
Once she gets comfortable, address some common issues, like adding functions, security, hacks, etc. on an 'as interested' basis. Personally, I find a lot of the posts here stimulate me to learn more about this kind of thing!
