What is the metal case in the SL-10 made of? i know that the T665C is made of aluminum and the NR70 is made of magnesium.

The SL-SJ line cases are all plastic.

My SJ30 only has the factory cover and shows very little if any wear from being dropped into my pocket. I think it is more durable than the magnesium coating over the body on the NR and NX models from what I've seen.

The battery bulge is losing its paint on my SL10

I think it's more like forged titanium.

That is, if they started making titanium out of plastic.. stupid budget cuts.. :)

I have some self-stick Teflon material - This is the same material that the gliders on the bottom of a mouse are made out of. I paper-punched 2 discs out of it, and stuck them on the lower corners of the battery buldge on my unit. I did it because I noticed one small scratch in the first couple weeks I had the device. No scratches now!

BTW, - I'm not sure where I got the material from, it was just among my "junk" at home. I'm sure that the little felt discs sold at Wal-Mart would do the trick as well. Perhaps a small piece of tape would work too.

I just don't like the look of the silver when it gets all scratched up. I have a friend with a T415 which looks like it went through a garbage disposal. It's not been abused, but got scratched up from normal wear and tear - sticking it in a jacket pocket along with your keys, etc... Still, it looks awfull.

It's very cheap plastic.

I had my SL10 in my pocket with my nokia mobile phone.

The result: nokia scratches the silver color off my clie. Now it really looks cheap.
