I have been using BugMe! version 4.3, thankfully with nearly no problems. However, I have noticed that not all of my alrm sounds appear in the alarm list to choose from. Can anyone explain why or if they have had this difficulty? The one which is not appearing that I would like to use is "clock".

I'm not familiar with clock, but I would bet that it's a MIDI/WAV converted alarm, and BugMe doesn't support that type.

How does one tell if this is the case? "Clock" by the way, came with the NX70. Its one of the original sound file add-ons.

Oh, OK. I restored my old Midi library using AlarmMaster when I got my NX, so that's why I didn't recognize it. Really, there's two ways to tell. First, for apps that don't support the polyphonic alarms, they won't be listed, which is what you saw. Also, in SoundUtility, all the regular alarms are listed in alphabetical order at the top, then the new alarms are at the bottom. If Clock is at the bottom, it's probably not going to be supported by apps besides the Sony ones.

That answers my question. "Clock" is in fact the last item listed in the sound utility. That explains both why it is not in alphabetical order and why it doesn't appear in BugMe. Thanks so much for the insight!!!

Not only in BugMe, many alarm sounds are not available in my everyday app. -- such as DateBk5.

There are two sound files on the most Clies, including the NX70.
System MIDI Sounds and System ADPCM Sounds.
I have found that if I install a wave file using sound conveter 2 it is listed last in the Sound Utility, but if I install a mid file it will be listed in order with the other files. Also installing a wave file increases the size of System ADPCM Sounds and a mid file will increase the size of System MIDI Sounds.
I suspect that Sound Utility reads both files, while apps like DateBK5 and Bug Me do not. There is an alarm program that will play all the alarms sounds (including those made with voice recorder) and that is Word Clock (must be down loaded from the Sony CD.

On the NR, DB5 played the ADPCM sounds, but it's broken on the NX. The developer of DB5 actually uses an NX, so he wants to make it work, but he says that he's following Sony's instructions and they're wrong.
