I ordered the Nx80 from Dell Home and I got the Nx73 in the mail today... now I have to exchange it ..... .... should have just order it from ecost. Has anyone gone through this from Dell before?

No, but the laptop I once ordered from them came with a bad HD. I called support and the lady was real nice, and after going through some trouble shooting she came to the conclusion that I had gotten a bad hard drive, the next day the UPS guy was there with my new hard drive(very easy to install) and everything went smoothly. I accidently hung up on her too during the phone call and she just called me back. Very good service. I wouldn't worry about it, just let them know what happened and it should all be good.

Dell is really nice about this kind of problems -based on my past experiences. You may even get a discount for your next order from them... worth to try :)
I've never ordered a PDA from Dell, but I've heard of at least one very annoyed person who ordered a gunmetal NX70 and got a regular one, only to be told that they never actually had the gunmetal ones, despite taking orders for them. Of course many people who wanted the limited-edition color were ordering from Dell just because they had that color. That's really bad business IMO, if they knew they would never carry that color. Your experience sounds like they just made a mistake, but that still shouldn't happen. Hope you get a discount! :)

Aw dude, that sure is a bummer!
I've ordered stuff from Dell before and not had any previous problems other than out-of-stock discontinued items (knock on wood). I suspect they may issue you a coupon too, but the Dell "I'm sorry" coupons usually have a pretty short useable time.
(On a sneaky little side note, I kinda hope the boxes for your and my orders got scrambled up. They might send me an 80 instead of the 73 I ordered. Sure Mac! :D)

Be firm and persistent with dell when you are doing a return (even because it is their own fault). Often times they are good and quick, but other times they say they are sending airborne when airborne really is not about to come. IMO their customer service is not what it used to be, but their prices are great so I keep coming back. This has been my experience and the experience of others I know.

I ordered my NX80V from Dell and it was shipped the next day. Sucky thing I don't like is them shipping Airborne, since Airborne has a tendency to just leave the box at the door (at least around here).

Just call them, Dell will always work it out, and usually mistakes are worked out at the speed of overnight delivery.
