Greetings All,

I've recently started loading some books in *.pdb format onto my Sony SJ30. I use "WordSmith" to read them.

The first 4-5 went successfully. However now when I sync they don't work. I can locate them thru the Sony file manager "MS Gate", and there they have created a whole new file called "PPrs" files and are listed as sub-files designated "PNRd" type.

Does anyone know what is going on? And how can I correct this problem?

Thanks,
Steve

I don't know if this will help your or not, but "PPrs" is the Creator ID for Peanut Reader (Palm Reader) databases. I am not sure if Wordsmith will read them, but maybe. Anyway, you can always check what reader program a database is for by entering the Creator ID at Palm's website below....

PDB is a container, like ZIP, to transfert files on the Palm.

check the CreatorID, it will tell you if you need a specific reader.
If you find "TEXTREAD" in the beginning of the file (hex editor), you can use any good Reader.
Such documents are called Palm DOC (because the file format is "Palm DOC").

I use Mobipocket to read those files.
