i used for normal stuff for 10 min (pim, date) .. battery at 100% ..

hmm .. i played warfare about 30 min .. battery at 100% this time ..

i turned on and played warfare again for 10 min .. battery at 100% again ..

at night .. i played warfare for couple hrs .. (1-2 hrs) battery at 35% ..

i turned off the unit for a day (using hold) .. it is at 35% now ..

weird ?

it always set at 100% so long .. when you use contineously .. the battery drops crazy without noticing .. happen to me many times ..

your nx ?

neogin, maybe you should stop using cracks/pirated software and start buying the software legally :D

Hehehehehe

My NX80 does the sae thing when I use the MP3 player and listen to music for an hour and then work on some stuff at the same time and the indicator says 100% percent. then I shut it off and set it down for an hour or more and then get back on it it says 60%.

I think all the Clie's do this, you have to kee track of the usage on your own and never trust the indicators. I get about 10 hours of use out of it before getting to the critical point when I need to charge again.

Also I don't know about anyone else but I have my brightness level set at half and that is how I get such long usage out of it. Make sure your scree it at half the brightness level and that will make it last much longer. Also it doesn't hurt to drain it all the way or close to the botton to open the Battery cells so the next time you charge them it will last longer and it probably will ready the Info-Stamina Battery more accuratly. So far it has worked for me.

Nope never seen that. The battery stays at 100% for what seems like an eternity, then starts to drop rapidly. I don't believe there is any real way to accurately measure the battery's life as it also depends on application. I run my NX80 at 1% brightness and it's plenty bright still. In fact at night it's blindingly bright! Additionally, there is no need to run Lithium batteries all the way down as there NO memeory effect. It actually decreases the battery's life span. The Lithium battery is usually well controlled by it's dedicated electronics. What I believe is that Sony is having QC issues with it latest technology, whether it's the NX73/80 or the NZ90.

I used to wonder the same thing and have concluded it is inherent of the Clie series.

I personally think Sony (like Microsoft with their PPCs) want to bolster their claims about long battery life. You figure, most people synchronize their handhelds everyday anyway, so why not let them believe that the battery is always at 100%?

Yeah, I charge my battery to full capacity everytime I sync. But just as a note, I have used my NX80 for 1.5+ week without charging and it STILL showed 100%! Of course, it dropped rapidly after that, but still, that's a good battery life.

Right, but Sony has had battery issues on top of it all. Although it's more prevelant with the NZ90 Clies it seems

At least it last longer by a few time when using camera.

I've never had that 100% battery status problem...but I've had the little charging light flicker before. Re-docking or re-plugging in the hotsync cable fixes it.. Also, when I do charge it, the battery status goes to 100% fast, but it slowly charges. Let's say the NX80 is at 35%. If it charges for 5 minutes, it might say 100% charged. when I unplug it, it'll trickle down back to like maybe.. 40%. Anyone else have that problem?

I'd say it's more a software problem than a hardware problem. I don't have an NX80, but on my NX70 I have something similar. The percentage stays at 100%, but the voltage actually drops. Somehow the software that calculates the percentage from the voltage has some break-off point after which it will start counting down. Probably to prevent people from calling that their clie won't charge up to 100% (I'm just guessing though)

Try BatteryGraph (http://palm.jeroenwitteman.com/BatteryGraph/index.php) and you'll probably see a nice smooth line of the voltage going down when you use the Clie.

Just make sure you charge the nx80 till the light off.(confirm full charge) :D

continue ..

i used 15 mins of warfare again (always at lowest brightness 1%) .. it dropped down to 14% of battery .. whoaaaa .. that was scary ..

i had good life on battery .. it seemed like .. 7-8 hrs max for normal use .. i'm sure .. it will be less if you use it non stop for 5-6 hrs straight at 1% brightness .. pretty sure .. happened so many times .. don't bother to use brightness at 50% to 100% .. it won't last longer than 3.5 hrs .. (straight)

next ..

evaoni,

i got similar problems like your .. it appeared 100% but it took forever for the orange light to disappear ..

larry,

i got about double of my previous nx70 also .. but .. i felt that the review on bargainpda.com last couple months ago was true .. 1 more thing .. i got the nx80 1-2 months earlier than you .. maybe, let see when your unit get older ..

unregistered,

how do you know ? no wonder this community hate unregiestered .. they are just mouth dog .. too bad that i always supported them earlier ..

kpu,

same idea here .. maybe, they are trying to trick their customers ..

mrSONYman,

i don't get 10 hrs anymore .. i used to get that much ..
