last month ago i purchased a NR-70v and it's lookiong a bit plain right now, i have no idea what to do with it....here's a few probems i have. I Hope you can help me.
1) GMovie Player - Whenever i look at the default movies (Aibo and cocoro, they look pretty nice i guess. They're ok, the image is still ok). When i transfer my own movie and take a look at that, the video itself is so horrible and "there are blocks" everywhere. Will installing another better movie player solve this problem and give me a better quality video? Any recommendations? preferably freeware.
2) Skins - I've heard so much, Audio Player skins, Clie Launcher skins. etc. My biggest problem is working out how to install these skins onto my PDA once i download them. Once i download them, i don't know what to do, where do i put these skins in order for them to be hoysync'ed? And when i do have the skins, how can i change the kins around?
3) Can i use my PDA as a storage system? Like download stuff from net cafe, and then store it all on pda, carry it home and extract it all? One way i worked out was to use MSExport, then go to "removable Drive G" and copy and paste files onto it. Is this the correct way? please tell me.
4) Belt clip holder. Does such a thing exist? i can't find one after hunting days for it.
5) lots of people talk about zlauncher and YiShow, what is this? another program? where can i get this and what's so good about it?
6) Memory - only 15Mb is supplied internally...this is not enough for me i guess, how can i get more? I already got a 64mb magicgate card, but don't want to rely on that for now, just wanna use that for MP3's.
7. Internet? I heard u can use Internet on it, like MSN etc, Windows CE, etc, i don't know the difference between my pda and a windows operating handheld systems. Can i create new folders to store all my files etc on this? (i guess not, but worth asking) or does all files have to be put on the desktop. My PDA desktop is so full already, it's so messy. so i wanna re-file things, but i guess the only way is to catorgorise them right?
8. Anyway to make PDAserve as an alarm clock? or countdown timer?
Thanks for your time

OKe,
1 don't know much about gmovie, never really used it. But i know there is kinoma software out there it's for playing movies and converting them with good quality. It's not freeware though.
2 skins, skins for launchers and audio player are different. As far as i know you can't get skins for the deault launcher, you have to use a different launcher, i use yishow which i'm very pleased about. Other use zlauncher or something different. Skins are made for these launcher and can be downloaded. But you have to get the right skin for the right launcher.
3 i don't use my clie for this i use my memory stick in a seperate reader/writer but i guess its the same if the stick is in the clie so it can't do any harm.
4 don't know, but there are cases for the clie, search the site (top right corner of the page)
5 see 2
6 internal mem can not easily be increased this is what memory sticks are for. So i sugest get yourself some more memorysticks. For mp3 you don't have to use magicgate, you can use the default purple ones that are a bit cheaper. Magicgate is only used when working with atrac music.
7 search the site for this. Don't really know if a nr70 can be used directly online. For offline viewing you can use ie avantgo or isilo.
8 ? don't really know what you mean here.

8 you can use worldmate (not free though) as a really cool alarm clock:) check it out at mobimate.com
if you really want to get the most out of your nr, you should be willing to spend for the really good software.
like our friend zefod, i also use yshow (www.yibing.net),
just check them out.
try these sites (if you haven't already):
www.mobimate.com
www.freewarepalm.com
www.ardiri.com
www.bluenomad.com
goodluck with your nr

7. I have been using Plucker (http://www.plkr.org) to read web pages off line with my Clie. You can get the high resolution (http://hires.plkr.org/) version to use with your NR and get a much more pleasant experience. Plucker allows you to download most any web page. It deals well with graphics and compresses the whole mess to take up less precious memory:). There are even whole books in Plucker format (http://dave.pluckerbooks.com:81/).
Check it out.
8. You might try out CFB Timer (http://www.freewarepalm.com/clock/cfbtimer.shtml). It is a primitive timer and only works up to 99 minutes, but it does work.

Don't get the hires version from hires.plkr.org. It's been superseded by the cvs snapshot at www.plkr.org (click on "snapshot"), which I think is more stable and includes hires support for more systems (e.g., UX50, Acer S50/60, OS5.3 QVGA, etc.).

First of all, please register. It's quick, easy, and free. This is a fantastic site... trust me, you'll be glad to become part of the community.
Second, use the search (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/search.php) function. All of your questions have been answered here before. There's a wealth of knowledge just waiting to be rediscovered.
2. Skins - Your best bet for skinning the overall system is ZLauncher. It's hands-down the best launcher (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11674&highlight=top+launchers) available, and you can currently get it for under $10 at pdagreen (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27594&highlight=zlauncher+pdagreen). You can download free themes on this site, and also at places like Handango (http://www.handango.com/), PalmGear (http://www.palmgear.com/), ZLThemes (http://www.zlthemes.com/), PalmSpirit (http://www.palmspirit.com/phpmalogitheque/details_cat.php3?cat=30) and more. Check out this thread (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24543&highlight=post+screenshots) for an idea of what you can do.
3. Storage system - Yes, you can do this. As suggested already, your best solution is to simply use a few memory sticks. The quantity and/or size will depend on what you want to carry around.
4. Case - There are lots of belt-clip cases available. Again, search! I googled and found several, including Bellagio (http://www.bellagiodesigns.com/showcategory3.php?cod_category3=4) (my personal favorite), eXpansys (http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=PFRAMA_NR70BL), Vaja (http://www.vajacases.com/pda_eng.htm), and Sena (http://www.senacases.com/NR70/index.htm).
5. ZLauncher - Again, simply the best launcher you can buy! Customize your PDA to fit your personality, use background images, integrated file manager, move apps to MS and run them to conserve space on your Clie, and lots more.
6. Memory - As was already suggesed, get more memory sticks. Use ZLauncher to move less-used apps to your MS. See if JackFlash (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productType=2&optionId=1_1_2&jid=8877BXED22C39D5AE73DXB752D9XED89&platformId=1&siteId=1&productId=8315§ionId=0&catalog=1&txtSearch=jackflash) supports your model.
7. Categorization - ZLauncher provides a nice, tabbed environment to clean up the clutter.
8. Clock/Timer - Tons of options here, including simply setting alarms in the built-in datebook. Other crowd favorites include multiClock (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productType=2&optionId=1_1_2&jid=8877BXED22C39D5AE73DXB752D9XED89&platformId=1&siteId=1&productId=5067§ionId=0&catalog=1&txtSearch=multiclock), MegaClock (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productType=2&optionId=1_1_2&jid=8877BXED22C39D5AE73DXB752D9XED89&platformId=1&siteId=1&productId=49876§ionId=0&posit=25&catalog=1&txtSearch=clock), BigClock (http://www.bigclock.de/), Vacuum (http://www.freewarepalm.com/clock/vacuum.shtml), and WAClock (which should have shipped with your Clie.
