I got an old CLIE SJ-30 from my uncle for Christmas, but the thing is he lost his software disc, so I download palm-desktop from download.com, and the hotsync manager does not recognize the Sony cradle! I called sony and they said they do not support that version of palm desktop, so I was wondering if any of you could send thru instant messenger or E-mail, a sony version of the palm desktop. I dun need any of the other software on the disc. Please help! Thanks

Funny... I never re-loaded the desktop software when I switched from a (serial) Palm IIIxe to a (USB) Sony CLIE SJ20. I still use Palm's software, not Sony's.
I believe that Palm's SW is more current. Mine shows desktop version 4.1.0, hotsync manager version 4.0.4.
Sony's download is labeled version is 4.0.1. I can’t imagine their hotsync manager is newer than 4.0.4.
Wonder why you had problems? ... Perhaps you should have downloaded the Palm Desktop application from Palm's web site instead. They have version 4.1 posted there.

I'm not really sure why I have problems. I did download palm desktop 4.1, but it would not recognize my CLIE when I put it in the cradle. I tried IR syncing and that worked, but it was too slow. anyway, I downloaded the sony version and it works now. Thanks for all your help!

Perhaps it has to do with OS? I use Palm's Desktop app (4.1) with 2 different USB cables, on 2 different computers. Both PCs are running Windows 2000. I have never had a problem. Maybe the OS makes a difference?

For my T615, I downloaded Palm's Desktop 4.1 and the Hotsync Update
