View Full Version : UX50/T68i won’t dial-up ISP via Bluetooth

I’ve paired UX50 with T68i along with configuring dial-up account specifics. When I attempt to dial-up ISP the UX50 makes connection with T68i (as indicated by Bluetooth icon on T68i) and “Service Connection Progress” widow says “dialing…” but eventually times out with no carrier. It seems to me that UX50 never sends dial command. Anyone have any ideas?

For the record, I’ve used a combination of TG50 and T68i in the past to dial-up ISP successfully via Bluetooth.

Thanks

You don't dial an ISP (in the usual sense of an ISP). GPRS on the connection provides data capability. I don't know which carrier you are using, but for AT&T in the states, I have no username/password and just '*99#' in the phone number field.

Hope that helps.

Check my UX50, Siemens S55, TMobile settings thread for a walkthrough on setting this type of connection up...

Thanks for your comments.

I'm not using any special data service. I'm dialing ISP using normal phone service and usually establish a connection limited to 7kbps. When I used TG50 to dial out, T68i would display an animated bar with number displayed. UX50 says it dialing out yet T68i displays nothing more than Bluetooth connected device icon. Still seems like command/number is not being sent to T68i.

I've even tried creating a new connection on UX50 using my home number just to see if T68i would dial out and display animated bar. So far no luck!

Got it working! I modified a copy of "Sony BT to GSM" and changed "Connect To:" from phone to modem. UX50 is now able to dial out using T68i as standard (but very slow) Bluetooth modem.

Thanks again for your comments.

Glad you got it working - I'd recommend getting your GPRS hooked up though. It's roughly 56Kbps for me, on AT&T in Miami. More money though, I understand that!

Cheers,
