Hi,
I'm having some problems using Image converter. I used it to convert a few mpegs and movs into mqv's however, I find that with some of the movs, that I do not get any audio AT ALL. Now this is really funny, 'cause, it seems to work with some files!!!!

For eg. From the LOTR Official site, I downloaded both the FOTR and two Towers trailers. The two towers came with sound. FOTR just would not come with any sound. (NO audio at all, not just faint) Yet both of the original mov's played with sound with quicktime.

Then I tried downloading the matrix reloaded trailer from their official site. The first time I converted to mQV (it was a 9MB file), it did play, but without any sound on the CLIE. (I have an NX80V). So I played it on quicktime and there it did not have any sound as well. SO then I thought it was a problem with my QT version being an old one, and so I updated my Quicktime. That solved the problem on my computer. (the MOV played with audio), BUT when I converted to MQV again, i noticed it was only 7MB and what's worse, it would not play the file at all!!!!!It would show the first screen of the video and then slider move snap right to the end of the time-bar and the next video would start to play!!! No matter how many times after that I did the conversion, the matrix reloaded trailer just would not play!!!

After this I converted a few mpegs and they turned out fine.

Well, this has been one long mail!!!!! But I am out of options, and I don't know why this is happening Why do some movies play and some do not?

Thanks in adavance for your help!!!

No one said it was perfect:D I am not up to steam on movies, but there are 3rd party apps that other members use. If you want, you can search back and find them. If I had the names, I would tell you. I only use the movies recorded on the Clie or Sony digital camera.

Try using TMPGEnc.

Directly converting downloaded files is iffy at best. Its safer to use tmpgenc to convert to mpeg1 files.

use tmpgenc or EOvideo to convert the files into mpeg1 but be sure that the movies should have frame rates not exceeding 29.97fps. If you want to be 100% sure that the files could run smoothly. 25fps would be the best. I've tried out some at 29.97fps sometimes it would work, sometimes not.

Hope that this could solve your problems!
