View Full Version : Okey Question - Sleep on Close

I'm interested in Okey strictly for the "Sleep on Close" feature.
Can someone tell me if it's customizable to accomplish just this?
Or, if not - does anyone know of another program that will just
do "Sleep on Close"?
Thanks

Yes, it lets you select which features to activate.
Dosen't the NX do this on their own? I've set mine to turn itself off after 2 minutes of inactivity. I'm sure you can set it to a lesser time interval.

Yes, but that's not the same as "turn off right now." Without OKEY, it'll stay on for 2 minutes (or whatever you set it to). With OKEY, it goes off when you want. Debatable if 2 minutes of battery time really matters that much, but...

OK... I installed Okey and enabled the stick key mode. however, when I want to type only the numbers nd try to "lock" the blue button, it does not work. I see the blue square on the screen, but it only works for the firt push; then, it goes back to nomal. Am I missing something here?

Thanks caseyatbt, are you satisfied with Okey?

For the most part, I love Okey... It's just that I rely on the "sticky keys" feature the most when I'm online -- or would, except that Okey seems to deactivate whenever I'm in Netfront. Wonder why this is?

Thanks... blue button sticky "accidently" happened while I was trying different combinations :)
I guess there is no sticky function for the red button...
Thanks, though...

I am experiencing the same thing... the sticky keys don't work in Netfront.

NetFront also clashes with Decuma, and it's acknowledged by Sony.

How irritating... Well, I'll shoot off a request to "Mr. Okey," but knowing how Sony operates, I doubt we'll have any satisfaction.

PS - So Decuma doesn't work either...? Typical.

I wish I can deactivate OKey in certain programs, especially AudioPlayer.
When I'm listening to music I have my Clie closed.
I rarely use the MP3 remote and usually navigate the volume and track with the jog dial.
However, this is impossible with Sleep on Close enabled.

If you put your Clie in HOLD mode, it'll stay on when closed (with OKEY enabled). However, you're right that this disables the jog dial.

I normally disable okey sleep on close. Use up down arrow function only.

I have found with sleep on close, I can't HotSync with the Clam shell closed. The NX80 comes ob very briefly and shuts back off and no HotSync.

My NX80 hotsyncs fine with sleep on close activated and in clamshell mode...

OK... lets see if I am missing something here:
When I disable Okey and push the CTRL and CAPS together, I get sticky blue keys... Then, when I enable Okey, it works the same way. For some reason, I thought this was an Okey function :)
I am aware of the CTRL+O, CTRL+C, CTRL+N, CTRL+P, CTRL+J combinations of the Okey. Is there anything else that is enabled with sticky key mode?

Now I know what is the sticky key for. Thanks.

It's not a big deal as I leave the NX80 in tablet mode most of the time anyway.
It was just something that I had observed with the green light coming on and then go out right away, no HotSync was initiated

Do you have the latest version (1.2.1)? I remember that was one of the bugs in version 1.2.

OKey would be about 500% better if it worked in NetFront.
The developer, Tatsuo Nagamatsu, is Japanese. I can try sending an email to him asking why but I'm not sure we'll have any luck communicating. Someone who speaks Japanese is enouraged to write him and explain this problem. You can find his email address on this page:

The up down arrows never show in netfront.

Yes, I have v1.2.1 :)
I prefer it this way as if my Clie gets turned on by mistake, let's say I hit the capture button, it shuts right off again. So it's just fine, I only commented on what I have experienced. It could also mean some cross reaction with another app.
Thanks!!!;)

Unfortunately it's probably not possible on the current models.

I have also noticed some weird behavior when an alarm goes off and the Clie is closed (clamshell) Dunno how to describe it exactly, but I gues "weird" is what it was.

Thanks for the address, Ed (nice "pre-review of the UX, btw...). Yes, Okey would be about "500%" better if it worked in Netfront... Well, at least it works fine in AOL (for emails and IMing), but I don't see why it shouldn't work in Netfront as well (for my prolific posting - j/k - Larry's got nothing to worry about from me). I'll try contacting Mr. Nagamatsu, but seeing as how my Japanese is pretty much non-existent, I doubt we'll see any results. Perhaps this is a job for Sonicboy...

I recieved a response from the developer of OKey on why his app doesn't work with NetFront.
OKey and ARM native application may cause a fatal error. So I temporary turn off OKey functionality when NetFront is running.
