View Full Version : Do you use protection?

Just curious of most NX/NZ owners use a case.

While I did keep my T665 in an alumium case, the NX80 is just about the same size as my T665 in it's case.

I also figured when I purchased it that with the flip lid protecting the screen, there'd be no need to add bulk by getting a case.

however, now I'm browsing through the treads on cases, and...

So.... do you guys (and gals) keep your NX/NR/NZ's protected, or let it all hang out?

I have one for my NX80....Normally I place it on my belt like a cellphone but because it is quite bulky so I would hold it in my hand.
These type of stuff are like cars when scratched.....will make you feel so down the whole day!

Anyway, You guys take good care of your CLIE's.....

No case. I have a compartment in my purse that I put it in when I'm out, and otherwise, it is naked :D

I use a screen protector for my nx80 and a leather case from CapDase. It's a bill-fold style case. My nx is ALWAYS in it and it rarely comes out, if ever.

ehehe..
the title sounded like another kind of protection, ehehe.. :)

Last few months, I used a case made for the NX70 but now.. I dont really find it useful, I dropped my NX a couple of times, this thing should have the Superman logo on it.

However, I still use a screen protector. Once, I threw a screen protector away, and after 2 days of use, I found our(out.. sorry) that made alot of scratches. ( Dont ask me how, I dont know ).

Get a Screen Protector!

Last time I used a screen protector, my screen got scratched, so never again!!! So for the past few years, there has been nary a problem with screen scratches. If I take my precious Clie anywhere, then I put some clothes on...

For the most part, I keep my NX80 naked in my back pocket w/a screen protector. While I'm not terribly particular about exterior scratches, I am anal about the screen. AFAIK, the clamshell+screen protector are all the "protection" I need.

For the times when I'm travelling, or have my laptop bag with me, I stick it in a Sony "sport" case (you know, the black mesh one). Fits perfectly, and it has a net in the front that holds my WiFi card and 512MB SanDisk. This combo, which offers excellent, wrap-around protection, will definitely fit in a coat pocket, but that's about it.

PS - Ironically, the only scratches I have are from the cradle and the application hard keys, the latter of which seem to "rub" a bit right beneath the keyboard, under the "Clie" lable. A case woudn't have prevented these...

I was thinking the same thing!

My Clie also has scratches below the Clie logo!

It also has minor scratches along the sides of the screen, again, which no case would have prevented.

What's kind of strange is, the outside of my NX looks like brand new!

For those of you who said you use a screen protector, do any use the Sony branded one? How is that compared to the boxwave, etc.?

I use a generic "Gladiator" all metal case that is adjustable for any pda, since there are no NX-80V metal cases yet.

No screen protectors.

I use the NUSHIELD (http://www.nushield.com/products.htm) screen protectors because they are the only type that that are not adhesive (they slide under the edge of the screen) and it works extremely well although they are a little difficult to put on.

I use a brando flip case with nx-80. Its reasonably priced and you can access all the buttons, slots, etc.. I almost never take it out of the case except to take the occasional picture. I also use the boxwave screen protector which is awesome and very easy to install.
