Avantgo won't sync

I have had sync problems with Avantgo before and been able to get around them either by using the modem sync option via my WIFI card or just reinstalling the app. I have not been able to get anything to work since mid August. I have deleted the app now maybe for good unless someone out there has had similar problems and has a solution. I will use Mobipocket for now as it has given me no problems.

I had similar problems, but solved this way:

a) Reinstall NEW version 5.2 build 83
b) Change settings in my firewall (first problem faced)
c) Verify conduit setup in Hotsync manager
d) Test until Succesful connection in Avant Go Connect (connection Tab)

Problem faced with new version:

Too slow to sync if memory stick is used.
Not enough memory in my palm if that option is not selected.

From seconds syncs before.. now takes lots of minutes..

Right, slow as molasses when syncing to the MS. I booted it off my Clie. I can use MobiPocket or Handstory to do almost the same.
