Warfare on expansion card (MS)

Hi to all,
Warfare is a GREAT game but eats up a good amount of my trmindind 8MB RAM.
I tried a lot what was suggested but it failed
Where did you put the big files in on the MS?? Normally they are in \launcher\.
That doesn't work with me.

I moved them file by file and found out that the following files have to be on internal memory to get the game working on my Clié NX70V:
htdata824.pdb 1,8MB!!!
htsfx.pdb 309KB

I could only move the Warfare Incorporated.prc-file on the expansion card.
There's a lot of internal memory lost for my Clié NX70V.
Do you have another solution?? And WHERE should I place the files on the MS? The suggestion to hotsync the files with the option "On the Memory Stick" fails.

Use freeware MSMount (http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&sid=1C65F974-27B2-4199-8F883B3F1DE9BA17&prodID=29216), then you can transfer both these files to your MS card. Main file Warfare Incorporated must stay in RAM. Works very well on my NR70V.

I'm having a similar issue.

Moved all files to /palm/launcher on the mem stick and can launch it OK from the vanilla Palm launcher prog, but can't get it from my default Launcher - Launcher X.

The icon appears, but it looks for the data files in main RAM.

Anyone know how to get Launcher X working with this???

I think you need PowerRUN.

works fine with zlauncher move app and related database

app occaisonally freezes during game play but I think it's just bugs and not a problem with the ms.

yep, zlauncher has no problem to do this as well :)

It also runs off of a Compact Flash card if you don't mind a fairly decent wait.:D

Three things I knew: I wanted Warfare, I was almost out of room in my NX60, and if anyplace had the answer it was CLIEsource! I found this thread and decided to try Zlauncher. All I can say is -- wow! Warfare and other apps moved right to the card with all associated files. I went from having a meg left in RAM to running everything as before plus Warfare and now have four meg in RAM! I had not tried Zlauncher before because I had been using YiShow and did not want to lose my backgrounds. I need not have worried. Zlauncher easily imports them. Anyway, not to get into a review of Zlauncher, just to say for Warfare it is great!

I use zlauncher and after moving warfare to the memory stick and playing it.... the screen turned white and i soft reseted, but i couldn't access my internal files... so I had to give it a hard reset. Thankfully backup man was there to save the day.

dont know why this happened, do you think it was because I only moved the two big files (1800, 400k)?

TealAlias works very well with it. I have all 3 files on the MS and use it also for programs such as GTS with large data files :)

I installed Warfare in RAM completely first (temporarily deleting some stuff) and then let Zlauncher move it to the card. It moved all three files and I have not had any problems.

Hi guys,
first let me thank you for making such numerous suggestions.
I finally trieds TealAlias because I don't want to give up up "used-to" LauncherX (which didn't make it). I thought TealAlias could be useful too for other Ram-hungry Apps and... well it works great!! With the aid of TealAlias I also could be up some space for JackFlash!!
Great application and very useful and most or all: WARFARE runs from the MS - not too slow (NX70V with 200MHZ!)

I was wondering if there was anyway to get warfare to work when using silver screen. I was able to get the game to load onto the memory stick and i can play it from memory stick but only after i disengage silverscreen. If I try to play the game from ms while silverscreen is running I get the following error "incorrect game graphics version or no game graphics installed" Is there anyway to correct this problem with out haveing to turn off silverscreen

All of Warfare Inc. needs to be in RAM to run full-screen on the UX50. I use PowerRUN to move it, not launch, from MS to RAM.

i also have the same problems in running warfare inc off the memory stick. the problem is i dont have enough RAM space to run as it requires about 4mb to run properly and i only have 2mb left on the RAM. it there a way or a program that allows me to run warfare inc from the memory stick without to the need to transfer it to the RAM first. this would eliminate the need to have at least 4mb of RAM to run this program.

i also heard powerrun does allow me to run warfare inc directly from the memory stick without the need to have the equivalent amount of space on the RAM. is this true?

I have no problem playing off the memory stick. I used filez to move the 3 files to the memeory stick, and the game works fine. The problem is that I use SilverScreen to give my Clie a little color and when I click on the Warfare Icon, (which has a memory stick icon on it) all I get is the error message "incorrect game graphics version or no game graphics installed". Now if I turn off Silverscreen and go back to the default launchers, I can play the game with no problem. I was wondering if this was a limitation with Silverscreen or if I did something wrong. Would like to be able to play the game with out having to keep switching between Silverscreen and the default launcher.

Where exactly did you put it? Just in the parent ZLauncher directory?
