Hi,
I bought my NX80V about 2 months ago and everything has been great until last week when suddenly I started having hotsync problems. Basically, I press the hotsync button on the cradle and nothing happens--the nx80v doesn't even light up! I know the cradle is somewhat ok since I can still charge (Battery information--Power:external, Status: Charging) and sometimes I can connect through Data Import. I tried to manually run hotsync through the application on the pda but it just says "connecting with the desktop using Cradle/Cable" and nothing happens.

Has anyone had this problem before? Should my warranty cover cradle problems? And how do I start warranty service? I think it's strange since the cradle is still ok for charging and ok for connecting for "Data Import." Any suggestions? Thanks.

on the bottom right of your desktop, tap on the hotsunc icon, make sure that the "usb" option is ticked if you're using usb connection.

Since the Clie doesn't turn on, it may be the result of software clash or memory error. First thing is a soft reset. If that doesn't fix it, then backup your Clie to the memory stick using MS Backup! Then do a hard reset and try to HotSync again. If still no joy, then it looks to be a hardware issue with the Clie or cradle. Either call Sony or exchange it if you can, providing you have an extended warranty.

I've had that problem too. Sony hasn't been able to help me out on this either. The system that I'm using it on is my desk top running XP, but it works on my notebook running win2K. I'll be blowing out my system in a couple of weeks and try to reinstall at that time and will let you know how and if that works.
