To encode a long movie like Lord Of The Rings at full Kinoma quality?
The new 1GB MS Pro is still not enough!
I encoded a 5 minute section of the movie at 24fps, 1000K video and 66K stereo audio just to see what it looked like (and to see if it would play properly at those setting on my NR70v), and it was SWEET! It's amazing what Kinoma can do when you really crank it up.
Then I went ahead and let the full movie render last night before going to bed, just to see how big it would be. This morning I awoke to find a 1.2GB Kinoma file as the result.
So that means, I could fit the whole movie at max quality on... 10 normal 128MB sticks, at about... 18 minutes a stick.
FYI: I have gotten the movie on 2 sticks (90 minutes on each), and it is decent quality.
