Quick observation . . .
I purchased a UX the other day and installed Cliesounds 2.0 to replace my default alarm DB. It doesn't seem to support those sounds. When they play, the sound quality is awful. Am I missing something or are enhanced sounds not supported on the new device? Seems odd because I can play them fine on an NX80. I may have missed a thread addressing this and if I did, sorry bout that. . .

Cliesounds was developed for Sony's proprietary sound API. The UX50 is Sony's first device to use the PalmSource's standard sound API. That's why it doesn't work correctly on the UX.

I see. Thanks. Do you know of any alarm sets that use the API standard?

I was disapointed too when I found out that the old alarms wouldn't work on the UX.. My cat really loves those sounds. Why? I don't know but she comes running whenever she hears it.

Huh, that's funny! So it looks like it's you, me and that cat. . .
I've been trying to get the ringers to work, but I don't think they're working right, either. All I've been able to do is reproduce the awful sounds that I was hearing before with Cliesounds. Is there a format for wavs that I can adjust with CoolEdit 2000?
Not having or finding decent alarms for the UX is killing me. I've been waking up to my Clie for years now. Is there a program that toggles mp3s on the memory stick at a certain time?

Yeah she really likes 'Alarm 2' Ever since my NR... You don't get this cat.. I mean, I'm willing to NOT sell my TG-50 JUST Because of it. Get this, she likes to be around people but she doesn't like to be held. She doesn't like to sit in people's laps (even me, her owner) yet she likes to be around people (the company I guess). When I first got my NR, I was messing around with the sounds and I played 'Alarm 2..' Well, I was laying on the couch at the time and when she heard it, she jumped on me and started rubbing her head into my hands and stuff!! And ONLY when I play some sounds off of the clie.. I think there's one that sounds like a bird too. There are a couple that she likes but it's Alarm 2 that makes her 'nice'. Yes, it's the WEIRDEST thing I've ever seen in my life.... No, I'm not crazy! :)

Hey all,
Other than the Voice Recorder app, is there any way to create new alarm sounds on the UX?
It doesn't come with a PC based sound utility, like my NR70 did. And as mentioned above, the "older" CLIE sounds don't work right on the UX.
I have some .wav files I want to transfer, but the encoding isn't recognized by the UX Sound Recorder app.
Any tips or suggestions would be most welcome.

Yeah, I have some .wavs I'd like to use as alarms, too. Additional info would be great!
