I followed trayip's great instructions, and after getting the CF card set up and creating directories for MP3's on the CF card, I used FileZ to move some music from my 512MB MS to my 1GB Sandisk CF. However, I selected about 200 MB to move at once - and it is happenning painfully slowly. After 20 min the status bar shows 10% done.

So, a few questions:

1) Is there a way to stop the transfer? If I use the reset pin to do a soft reset, will that risk harming my CF or MS?

2) Is there a faster way to get data from MS to CF? Even if that means copying from MS to PC and PC to CF? If not, I will just get some lunch... I know that I can use a card reader, but I don't have one.

3) I have yet to install the Pelaca DataImport utility; I presume that I can use that to move data from MS to CF - is that correct? Even if it's slow, it still beats typing names and using a stylus, especially for small files.

Thanks,

1) You may lose some data.
2) Get ypurself a card reader. It's much cheaper than your 1GB CF card or 512MB MS Pro.

Yes, a card reader is Vital in this case. Also, the hacked sony CF drivers with data import (Peleca has them) you can use your clie as a card reader for both cards, so long as only one is put in at a time. (you'd have to copy from the PC's hard drive)

officemax has a free dazzle card reader...though i'm not sure if it's usb 2.0 compatible...but it's still free (After mail-in rebates that is :))

I use a multicard adaptor on my laptop whenever doing this. It is cheap and it works and the whole transfer time is negligible.
