My UX50 is working well at everything I can figure out how to get it to do... but unfortunately between Sony and Siemens (my phone's an S56), that's limited.
Sony has not updated their Mobile Connection Wizard for the UX50 and does not ship S56 support yet. PalmOne doesn't support the Clie in general and PalmSource doesn't seem to support support. Siemens limited the S56 relative to the S55, using different codes for some things and preventing others (as in Calendar listing and Address book acces, though Phone book access works.)
So I've got NetFront working on Bluetooth to my PC, but of course that's not very useful. My remote options are:
1. Dial-Up (not GPRS). But doing this requires a dial-up connection; I don't have one. Is there a convenient way I could use my home system as a dial-up provider? I run Win2K, but have no idea how to HOST RAS via dial-up on it.
2. GPRS - not yet supported as far as I can tell, but it may be an issue of determining the correct commands. Unfortunately, all the documentation via Cingular or the net in general is for the S-E T68i or various Nokia phones. Anybody got GPRS via Bluetooth from a Clie working?
Lastly, am I understanding correctly that #1 comes out of minutes and #2 comes out of data on my cellular account?
Thanks

I have the same setup (UX-50/S56) except I'm on AT&T.
I found instructions on AT&Ts site for a Tungsten-T to S56 connection that worked for me.
Might not work exactly as posted for Cingular, but it's a start.
Everything works fine, except that when I disconnect, I cant re-connect again without turning the phone off and on. My guess is that the GPRS connection stays up after you disconnect from the Clie, and doesn't reset when the Clie tries to re-connect. Since they disabled the ability to turn GPRS off, have to power cycle the phone to reset GPRS.
When I use my Powerbook to connect to the net with the phone, it resets just fine, so it's not just a problem with the phone. I'm looking for a change to the init script to hopefull fix this.
Here's the 411:

Maybe it's Cingular that's screwed up. That still caused the same timeout on mine.
Thanks for the shot.

Try this in the script. After you Send the CR, select Wait For and type CONNECT (all in caps), then end.
Also, you can try atdt*99***1# (and you can also try 2 or 3 instead of the 1 here). Not sure what all that does or why, but it's what works on my set up (UX50, Siemens, S55, TMobile).

I fixed the problem I had where I could connect once, but be unable to re-connect without power-cycling the phone.
I had my GPRS coinnection document set as:
Connect to: Modem
Via: Bluetooth
It needed to be:
Connect to: Local Network
Via: Bluetooth
UX-50 to S56 via BT on ATTWS now works 100%
