I have a mac and I just purchased the ux50. I need to buy a wireless router. The airport base station is too much. I need one that I can plug my G5 into (it is not going to be wireless, but I want it connected to work off the line), and I want to roam the house with my ux50. What would you recommend, and where can I get the best price on it? Thanks!!

Just buy the airport extreme card to install inside your Mac ($99). As long as your Mac is connected to the internet by wire, the UX50 will connect to it via the Mac's airport signal. I have an imac G-4 and the UX50 and connect to the internet with no problem.

Just go pick up a Linksys 4-port wireless router. You can get them now for about $80. They are really easy to setup, in fact you can just plug it in and it will work after entering your ip info. That's it. If you leave the default wireless info, your UX will pick it up immediately. Cheaper than the Airport Base Station and from what I understand, you get better reception with it.

Thanks for the help everyone. One question, do I have to buy the airport extreme card, or can I buy one of the old ones? (I am not sure if they are the same size, backwards compatible, etc....)

If you have a G5, the extreme is the only airport card which will work internally. (Each Mac only works with one or the other, but they are interoperable - I use Extreme on my Powerbook 12" and it works fine with the UX.)
You can get pretty much any "Wifi" base station/access point - they're very cheap. Most will not be a bottleneck for a Palm-OS based device, so the only differences to evaluate are ease of setup and range if the UX is the only device you're using this for.

I just need it to work for about 45-50 feet and I want the easiest set up. What would you recommend, the airport card or the wifi based station?

Yes that's the one (eBuyer...). That's the same one I have. I plug my powermac into the back of it with an ethernet cable, and my powerbook and UX connect via wireless. If you need help setting this up, just let me know.
