Synchronising problem with Lotus Organizer 97

Can anyone help

I have just bought a clie SJ30 and found that Intellisync lite provided with it does not synchronise with Lotus Organiser 97 which is the PIM currently used at my work place.

Is there an economical way round this problem OTHER than upgrading Organiser ( that's not possible at the moment).

I have looked at the details given on the pumatech website for the full version of intellisync but that does not list Organiser 97 as one of its supported programs. Does anyone know if it will work?

I had the same problem with 97 also and I had to upgrade to 6.0, I downloaded it from IBM's sight and it was just around $30.00, It transfered all my 97 data with no problem to 6.0 and now everything syncs fine. I know you said you could not upgrade at this time , but I think this is your only choice.

Thanks Khakiman, can I ask if you could just read the organizer 97 file directly into organiser 6.0 without having to export all the sections separately. I read something on one of the intellisync pages which suggested that you might need to do that with some versions of organiser in order for the syncing to work.

The reason I ask is because the people who put things in my diary will still use 97 and I wondered if I would be able to just open the file created with 97 in Organiser 6.0 every time I wanted to sync my clie. If its just a matter of opening the file with a different program for sync that would be fine, but if you need to export and import the file section by section every time that will be too tedious.

If it works I think your suggestion would be the best. Pumatech tell me that even the full version of intellisync no longer supports LOtus 97 and anyway it would be more expensive than lotus. Apparently intellisync 4.x will work but they don't tell me how to get it.

It's so frustrating having got this device that should allow me to keep tracking of appointments etc so easily and then not be able to use it!!

I use the full version of Intellisync, but I also use Organizer 6. However, to sync my cell phone, I use Truesync, which is made by Starfish. Look here. (http://www.starfish.com/solutions/data/compatible.html) It does sync with Organizer, but it doesn't say which version. I am sure a call to either Pumatech or Starfish could give you the answer your looking for. Upgrading Organizer should be a last resort. :)

I think you could do that , I don't remember haaving to export anything, I just installed 6.0 over 97 and it work without no problems, However you may want to email lotus just to be sure.

I use Organizer 97 GS. It's CD comes with a sync program called EasySync. You might check the folders on your Organizer CD to see if there is a similar program.

Or, it could be the "GS" edition of Org. 97 that I have . . . .
