anyone ever used the program "fastCPU" by megasoft2000? it supposedly increases the speed of your processor and performance of your apps... but i want to find out how this works and what it's good for before i try it!
thanks.

It doesn't work on the NX series.

I know this particular program does not (not even with os5 i don't think) but what do these types of programs do for you? increasing clock speed at what cost? and is there one for the NX (os5)?

Some say the life of the palm, but I don't personaly think so, I used one to get my palm to 54Mhz and ran it all the time, you loose some battery life but you just slow it down in that case. I loved it, ThinkDB (Smart Lists to go) ran a lot faster with it. 200Mhz is pretty fast on the NX, someone is probably working on speeding it up though.

I used it on my NR for quite a while. It speeds up the CPU while lowering battery life. Years ago (Palm Pilot) rumor that programs like this would actually fry the unit when overclocked too high. These commercial programs will hopefully not do that since they were actually tested.
