I remember one of the discussion on this board before it got hacked, had to do with those third party AC chargers that are being sold on ebay.

There were some concerns that the voltage and amps differed from the Sony specs. I wrote the seller of the one I bought inquiring about the difference in specs and he responded by saying it is a misprint on the product and that in fact the chargers were in accordance to Sony's Specs.

I also remember someone taking out their meter and testing to see if the voltage/amps were the same.

Can some one tell me what the verdict is on this issue?

I got this charger when I had a T415. I am wondering if I should use it with my T665. I know I can take apart the cradle and use that but I dont want to do that especially considering I would have to take around that big clumsy adapter with me.

Thanks

sorry, i don't have an answer for you.

but just want to let people know that you can get the belkin ones from buy.com or gateway.com at about the same price as those on ebay (which has no brand name)

because they add around 8 bucks for s&h

Don't know anything about the orginal thread but I got the iconcepts one from compusa. It comes with a hotsync charging cable, a wall adapter, car adapter and a whole bunch of international adapters. I've used everything but the international adapters and they all seem to work well. It was $10 after rebate, so I really can't complain.

Did anyone compare the Voltage and amps specs on the third party chargers with the sony one to ensure they are exact?

If not check it out.

i have one of the 4-in-1 mobile sync/AC/car/USB chargers. i use it at work and haven't noticed any difference in battery life or any other problems. works great and it might actually be USB 2.0 because it syncs about 1.5x faster than my standard cradle... oh, by the way, i have a T615.

Does it charge faster?

i haven't taken the luxury to time--my battery never gets below about 80% and seeing as how the cradle takes less than 2 hours to fully charge (is that right?) then taking it from 80% to 100% takes less time than it ever is connected.
