komakino,

I thought sony DID give you 2 stylus pens with the NX80. Mine came with 2 - one for the unit, and one for the little stylus holder on the right side of the charging cradle. Did I just get a factory mistake? Other owners - please post. I'm curious now.

Best wishes,
Bawko

It doesn´t seem like styluscentral offer any dedicated stylus for NX-73/80 so i think you have to buy them at sonystyle.com.

Wow..Atomic Chicken, looks like you're the lucky one who got two stylus pens. So are both of them the retractable one that fits in the NX80? or one retractable, one normal like that of the NX70?

Wow is right, I didn't get any extra stylus, should I complain??:D

I don't use the blessed thing anyway. IMHO it's a total waste and useless besides...!

If you buy the replacement two pack, you do. However, I believe people are referring to what you get in the box with the NX80. The NX80 only comes with one.

Advertised on sony website? you mean the specifications - package contents? The spny site clearly states the 2 pack stylus is an optional accessory. PAckage contents only listed a SINGLE stylus.

I only go one stylus (and it IS miserable)!

It's only a backup, as I usually keep a multipen handy. Yesterday I lost my multipen, so the 'lil stub of a stylus saved my bacon when I needed to make notes while furniture shopping.

It's better than nothing, but not by much!

Hello again, everyone!

Just returned to read this thread. I am actually a bit shocked, I didn't realize that the NX80 only came with 1 stylus. My brand new, unopened (no cepler - it wasn't used, I bought mine the first day they arrived at BestBuy) box had 2 stylus (stylii?) in it. There was one in the unit itself, and one loose in the box. I thought the 2nd one was to keep in the little white stylus holder on the right side of the charging cradle. It is the same retractable type that fits in the NX80, and they are both white - not a black one like P DaWg SevEN is talking about.

I guess I got the luck of the draw, or won the Clie jackpot, or something. Maybe they were in a hurry at the factory because the NX80 was a new product? I don't know. Whatever it is, I'm sort of pleased about the whole thing :D

Best regards,
Bawko

I only got one. Funny thing is I never noticed the stylus holder on the docking cradle!

yea sony just used the old cradle from the NX series...

I hate my stylus too! does anyone find that their stylus is hard to take out? I used to think my stylus silo was too loose, but now its really hard to yank the stylus out.. I'm afraid im going to break something!

I'm finding the same thing with my NX73. The stylus is now harder to pull from the silo. Also, it used to automatically open and "lock" when I pulled it out. Now, it comes out collapsed and I have to manually "lock" it. And it's stiffer than it used to be in doing so.

Mine won't lock and never has....think I can return my NX80 and upgrade to a UX because of this? HAHAHA....just joking...love my NX80!

uhm, at the end i bought the replacement pack for nx73 on european site..polimedia, i didnt paied for shipping, i choose standard shipping and the system doesnt charge any ..only the 17 euros (that is definately TOOO much) that is the package price.

anyway the stylus is really difficult for normal use..and for drawing is impossible.

ciao

Well... my local BB has replacements... you could try there (fits nx73/80 size)

Yeah, my NX80 only had 1 stylus included. The BB near my house has an NX80 2 pack replacement for like $15.

I think I'll just buy a multi-function pen/stylus from Staples, though ...

BE CAREFUL. I have heard of MANY people forgetting to retract the pen and replace it with the stylus tip, and end up writing on their handheld screen with ink :(

Not worth the risk to me, but if you do buy one just make sure you PAY ATTENTION. It could end up being a harsh and expensive mistake!

Bawko

Good point.

The last one I used was back with my Casio E-105 Pocket PC. It had a pen on one end (under a cap) and the stylus tip on the other end. You couldn't write on the screen with the pen unless you went through the trouble of taking off the cap. I think by that point you would realize that you were using the pen. I'll try to find one like that again ...

CompUSA had one like you are talking about and the stylus end could be lit if you rotated the end. The light came in red or in blue. I think it was either $10 or $14. I have had 2 of them. My Yorkie loves to chew on pencil like objects.

komakino thanks I still have my stylus, so I'll wait to see if something cheaper or better comes out 17 Euro are still a lot even if I liked to have a spare stylus just in case.
Even if the stylus is really toothpick like I am getting used after almost 2 years of NR usage. I must say I got a Tungsten pen in my hands last week and I was a bit envious ......

*lol* no need for envy.. buy something like belkins quadra 4-in-1 and you'll always have the largest stylus in town.. though i wouldnt try to get it into the clies stylus slot ,-)

well, hopefully that thing will arrive soon, but despite having that 4-in-1 in mind for presentations im used to small pens. im having a 1 inch pencil in my wallet just in case i need to write something down on the way. good thing i wont need it anymore.

I just made a hole in my Clie NX 80 , PDAIR case with a device used to pinch holes in a leather belt. In the outside to prevent damage to my screen.
If you use the largest size pincher you can just slip in the stylus of the NX70 or ANY (= cheap but comfortable) replacement stylus.
(though you have a hole in your case...).

Anything better than using that styless stylus of the NX80
