I have recently purchased my NX80v so I am a little overwhelmed with the depth of knowledge on this site. I am hoping someone could give a newbie step by step instructions on getting the Eruware software to work on my NX80. I bought it but have not installed it yet. I emailed Eruware to ask for support and they referred me to this site. They said a new driver should be out soon for the NX73/80 but that was several weeks ago. I looked at some other posts for this subject and a driver from a NX70 was needed. Please let me know if that is still the correct method and if so where to get the driver.

Thanks, David

The Sony NX73/80 already has the Sony driver on it, in ROM. Do NOT install the EruWare driver. What people are using are hacked Sony apps that can recognize the CF memory card. Sony designed the apps to be read one card only. Proceed cautiously as most of this is for power users with Clie experience. The best course for you is to read the first post at the top of the compact flash forum. The other is to be a little patient, as more stuff will be forth coming over the next week or so.:)

I haven't seen anything forthcoming from Eruware in the way of new additions to the driver. The company seems to be having some internal problems. I would sit back and see how this comes out before making a purchase of the present driver. I see they are trying to sell it on a few other sites but to be honest, it doesn't have anything different added. Give it a week and maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised. Just my 2 cents.

To use the current (1.2.1) EruWare driver on the NX80 or NX73 take a look at this article:

As pointed out, you don't need it for most common CF operations.
An alternative is "Mini"s patches for NX80 apps which makes the media "banned" applications work with the built in NX73/80 Sony driver.
