HI all,

I'm using DocsToGo that came with my NX . However, Word document that has diagrams (graphics created inside Word) are not readable on my NX (I mean, the graphics were not readable but text in the doc was fine).
Are there any app other than WordToGo that can better display Word graphics?
I would appreciate any info.
Thanks.

Mike,
It may be worthwhile to upgrade your included DocstoGo. I'm using DocstoGo 5 Premium on my T615 and it allows me to see images that are imbedded in documents using the PicstoGo app (not sure if that's part of DtGPro or only Premium).
Check DataViz's website... they do have discounted pricing on upgrades for Sony users who got DtG included with their device.

If you are using it for reading purposes only then I would suggest using iSilo. I preserves text, images, formatting and tables very well. The advantage to iSilo pertains to hyperlinks in documents. You can convert any Word to html or snag any website for reading up to unlimited depth and use it. iSilo is by far the most functional reader app, and it's clipboard is compatible with the built in clip board.

Hi Scott,
Thanks for the response.
Can you see graphics diagram created inside Word? I don't mean embedded picture image, but those diagram objects that you can draw inside Word (circle, square, arrows etc...)? I could see some objects on my DocsToGo but they were not very readable.

Hi Kenny,
Yes, I only need them for reading as I like to keep hardware/software manuals on my NX for quick reference at work. Thanks for the suggestions. How do I convert Word or pdf files into iSilo format? Thanks

To convert a Word doc to html/iSilo

Open the Word doc
Select "Save as Web Page" in the file menu of MS Word
Open iSiloX
Drag and drop the new html file into the main window of iSiloX
Select the little HotSync icon at the top of iSiloX
HotSync your device

I know that there is an app that converts pdf files to html but I've never used it.  There was a thread posted here that has the info.  You might do a search on the site to try to find it.  If you find the link to the converter let me know.  I would be interested in using it.  HTML is bar none the best reading format for a handheld because of the hyperlinks.  I have used iSilo to convert ten volume reference material from web sites that I use for reference work on my device.  With well built web pages or documents that use hyperlinks it makes the documents very easy to work with on the small screans.

Hi Kenny,
Thanks for the tip! I just tried it and the graphics diagrams did work better than DTG but are still not perfect. Wish that iSilo has a "zoom" to zoom in the diagrams. I like the HTML links too!
I'll look for the pdf to html converter that you mentioned.
THanks again and I appreciate it.

You can customize the size of the images being converted to any size you like.  Do this by

right clicking on the document in iSilos main screen.
select properties
go to the "images" tab
set the picture size

Now the images will be converted to your specified size and you can pan the pictures by simply dragging the picture with your stylus.

Hi Kenny,

Thanks for the tip! It worked! I set the image size to 640 x 900 and all diagrams are readable! iSilo did a great job in pulling in web pages too. I just wish that it can do:
- highlighting
- add annotation
- add sketch notes

All those functions are in Mobipocket but Mobipocket can't pull web pages as iSiloX and it doesn' t display Word->html doc as nice as iSilo.

Thanks again.
