This is for a new unit from Best Buy.

My question was mainly whether or not to upgrade, regardless of the price, although price IS important.

Oh, I am sure, without a doubt, you will like the upgrade. Get the extended warranty if you can. The single most important item is to protect the screen from breakage. The Clie can be exchanged for almost any other reason, but others have done it. CompUSA has the best extended warranty plan, but it's also the most expensive. Being your at such an young age, I presume money would be hard to come by and the Clie is an expensive item to break or lose. Something to consider, also a possibility to upgrade later on, if something should happen to the NX70.

Yeah, I have the CompUSA extended warranty plan and it's great ;) . The other day I went there because the stylus that came with my NX60 broke and even though they said the stylus alone is not covered under warranty, they'll sell my any stylus I want for their store cost and they even gave me a deluxe metal case for store cost as well :D . CompUSA has excellent policies :) .
