View Full Version : HRCapt DA Delay settings now work!

I have been emailing the creator of HRCapt DA this past weekend to see if he could tell me why the delay settings in his screen capture program would cause a Clie to freeze up. After a few emails back and forth he found out that it was a bug that dealt with the English ROM versions on the Clie line, and got it fixed!

So, download the new 1.77 version of HRCapt DA and HRCapt DM from http://www.LaunchPlug.com/HRCaptDA.html and you can start taking delayed screen shots of your Clie! This is especially helpful for those of you with 320x480 screens, as you can activate HRCapt DA with a delay, minimize your graffiti, and get a full screen capture with just this program. There's no need to use other delay-activation software for it to work anymore... and it's still all free :)

Cheers.

Spradlinb,

Thanks for the update, I'm going to install it. The delay hadn't really been a problem for me, since I just launch HRCapt with a hardware button, using Slowlaunch, but it will be nice to have the option. As usual, your web site is great.

Sprad,

If you didn't already mention this on you web site. HRCaptDM has to be in RAM for the delay to work. If you try it with HRCaptDM on MS, you get a device freeze requiring a soft reset. HRCaptDM does not have to be in RAM to do an immediate capture.

I tried the delay this weekend on 1.77E, and it still lock my T665C. Both programs are in RAM. Has anyone tested the file available on their website this weekend?

I tested the file taken from LaunchPlug that Brian gave, and it works great on my NX. The cool thing about this version is you can now take screen shots of menus and pop-up windows using the delay.

I'll try that one when I get home. Interestingly, the 1.77 from the Japanese website this weekend is a few days older than the date in Brian's archive. This is great news!

I just downloaded it this morning. The version indicated in HRCaptDM is 1.77f-E and I haven't had any problems on my NR other than the limitation above. Maybe it was changed since this weekend.

PS: I downloaded from the Japanese web site also, since Spradlind's web site indicated he still had v1.76. I am using Slowlaunch to launch it.

Version 1.77F is what they sent me directly by email this morning, and that's the file I put onto the LaunchPlug.com server for downloading... I forgot to update the "1.76" note next to the download link, but it actually goes to the newest 1.77 file as of this morning. I've added the note about keeping the DM program in RAM with the delay too, thanks for letting me know about it.

I think I can finally switch completely over to this program from ScreenShotHack, now that I can get menu and pop-up shots, as rldunn mentioned :).

Cheers.

Brian,

OK, I guess the one I downloaded from Japan on Saturday was before it was fixed. I'm looking forward to installing the new version tonight. Thanks for the heads-up. :) BTW, I wrote a review of HRCapture on PDA Avenue (http://www.pdaavenue.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1942) on Saturday. You may have received a mention there. ;)

OK, downloaded and installed the newer 1.77f. The delay function seems to work fine. Wooohoooo! Thanks again for the point out. :)

The hosting service I use had a server crash last night, and it seems that the backup they used to restore from was from one day previous to my updates... so, the page today was the old one, and I have just re-uploaded the new page and program for you to use.

Cheers.

Was hoping this release would solve the other bug I get in HRcapt:

When I set it to capture BMP to MS, after it does its scan, I get a Fatal Alert-Fatal Exception...everytime. Does this on all three file types, as long as I set HRcaptDM to MS then go to what I'm capturing and run the DA.

It does not crash when I do a capture to RAM...just to MS.

Anyone else experience this?

Gary, you have some weird things going on with your system!! I have mine set to capture BMP to MS and it has worked perfectly everytime.

Hey...one should say "consistently challenged" instead of weird... :D

It does actually capture, the file's there...just have to reset after each capture! Not exactly efficient...

I can live with it if I can find the ToBMPWin_E program that will convert the sBMP files...I'd be okay with that.

FYI, mine is set captured to MS w/o problem. The 1.77f-E delay capture setting also works fine with my N760C. Although I don't need the delay, but it's nice to have option that works properly.

That file is included in the .zip distribution. I used it for a while, until I discovered I could just save the files directly as BMP and not have to convert them. I have no problem saving the BMP to MS on my NR or N.

It was...and it wasn't! Apparently there on an earlier version, but missing in the last version. I e-mailed the LaunchPlug guy and he readded the file.

In the end though, I still get the fatal crash when set to save to MS...so I'm trying ScreenShot. Really liked the ToBMPWin_E desktop image program, though....
