Derek,
What GPRS service are you using in HK? I'm using Sunday GPRS and it works fine..... :D
Unfortunately I didn't get the leather case today, because Sony said shipment was delayed by the recent typhoon. :( . I will have to wait for another 2 weeks for the free leather case to arrive...
Cheers

I am trying to connect with T610 (T618) and no can do.
I have CSL account in HK.
I have imported (from my old Palm) a T610 profile so can choose a T610 phone in network
I go to Network in Preferences and create a new SERVIE which I call CSL (I assume none of the other pre-assigned networks works)
I set username to CSL and for Password I just hit space bar
For Connection I create a newe one that I call Lan T610 (this is what it was called in my Tungsten where it worked)
Under details for Lan t610 I say the connection is PPP, I put in the correct DNS settings but when I get to script I cannot enter the same things as I have on my tungsten
On my Tungsten I have a login script that includes a bunch of things called GPRS1, GPRS 2, GPRS 3, etc...
What do I do!?
You say I dont need any drivers but how come it doesn't work? Where can I go to figure it out?
Also does anyone know if a IMAP mailbox can be read by the Clie mail which is POP only?
Please help me

The string is something u need for the gsm to make the call, parameterts telling how to operate...
it looks like this for my t68i : at+cgdcont=CID,"IP","APN"
edit : www.esato.com is the best place for se phones issues and infos

Anyone got the SMS or agendus dial functioni to work with t610? When I used the Test function under Phone I got a "Feature not supported by device or network"... do I need the t610 driver or something?
The UX could find the phone and vice versa... just wouldn't do anything.
update: nevermind, I found the phone link update at the palm site. It added a "BT to Sony-ET610" connection for me and working flawlessly.

:D Thanks! Strange to think why the Clie UX-50 didn't include this driver. I was pretty upset that I couldn't get the UX50 to send SMS via T610.
Thanks!

Oldster,
You will need to add +852(tel no.) it will work.
Cyber!

I've actually set the GSM Phone Setting to "Generic GSM Ph." and that seems to work with my UX-50, at least for SMS messaging. Just needed to change the Init Stringto "X1E0+CMEE=1:+CSCS="GSM;V1" (as was provided in the additional info provided by Sony).
Regarding getting on-line via GPRS, basically given up, I'll just use WiFi when I reach a hotspot.

If you can't connect your T610 with UX, try this setting, don't need to set any "string"
Under connection, create a new one
Set Connect to "Modem"
Via " Bluetooth"
Then Device "Your 610" <---Tab to let it search itself

Instead of using the T610 phone driver (which you need to place +852 (country code)), set the GSM Phone Setting in the UX-50 to "Generic GSM Ph." and that seems to work with my UX-50, at least for SMS messaging and you don't even need the country code before you send a local sms (much less work).
Just remeber to change the Init Stringto "X1E0+CMEE=1:+CSCS="GSM;V1" (as was provided in the additional info provided by Sony).

Hi, just got my ux50 and am configuring SMS with T610.
I have created a new Phone Connection using "Generic GSM Ph." and edited the Init String to "X1E0+CMEE=1:+CSCS="GSM;V1". SMS is working ok.
I am trying out the T610 driver option, which need to add +852 (telephone no). May I know where to add this and what phone no. is required ?
TIA.

Oops. I just found out the answer myself. Its supposed to be (+country code) for the receiver no. That means I have to edit all my address book contact mobile no. to include the country code. Meantime, I will use the generic phone driver.

I tried everything in this thread, but it still wouldn't work on my UX-50. I still only get the "Connecting...."

I am trying to send sms from UX50 through T618. I have tried every method on this thread, still don't work. I keep getting Phone Error message "Unable to connect to phone. Please check your settings and make sure the phone is ready" when I hit the test button inside /Preferences/Phone. I really get upset on this.
Could somebody give me glue on this?
Many Thanks...

Try this, I got it from a T3 that was on display at BestBuy :) Works wonders with my UX50 and T616
Connect to: Phone
Via: Bluetooth
Device: NekPhone (your phone here)
Model: Generic GSM Ph. (these are the built in GSM drivers)
Go to "Details"
Speed: 57600
Init String: &FV1E0X1

I finally made it work. What I did was I deleted the bluetooth connection on both my T618 and UX50. Then paired with my T618 on UX50 first, and then did the same thing on T618. Bingo, it worked. The bluetooth test on Pref/Phone said the connection test passed but some of the parameters were wrong matched. However I can send SMS through bluetooth from within my UX50 now. Wonderful...
Thanks to ClieSource and the people...

Yes, it is really cool! I am kind of wondering if I can dial out the number from UX50 and use bluetooth earphone after the call has been set up.

On the download page it says the update only support the specified US-sold models. Mine is the Hong Kong model UX50. Did anyone has sucessfully use it on UX50 Hong Kong model?
Thanks,
