i like it a lot. but i have two queries,,,,
when i move an app to MS, i don't see a way to move it back to ram. all that pops up are options to move the app to another directory in MS. i end up using filez to move the app back to ram.
i downloaded some skins from the links at yibing to programs\yishow\skins. the skin prc's don't show up when i go to skin manager.
can anyone help.....thanks

What Clie model are you using? There are actually two versions of the YiShow skins, one for older Clies with OS 4.x, and another set of skins for the newer Clies with OS 5.x. If you try to install a skin for the wrong OS to your memory card, it won't appear in the listing. If you're using a newer NX Clie, then you will only be able to get a few skins from the YiShow homepage... there aren't nearly as many skins converted for the OS 5.0 version of YiShow as there are for the OS 4.x version.
Cheers.

Ah, that would be the reason then. You actually want to download the skins for Clie instead... you can get them from ClieSource, or the largest number of them from http://www.yibing.net/english/clie_skin.htm directly. They should work just fine with your T615, plus you get MANY more to choose from :)!
Cheers.

I have a similar issue with Skins. I am using the Yishow for Palm with my NX60, but cannot get any of the skins to register. Can anyone tell me which skins are valid for OS5.
Thanks.

Thank you for listing that some skins made for pre-OS5 won't display in the Yishow skin directory.
My subsequent question first off concerns the version of Yishow and program type (i.e. the Clie or Palm). What version should I run, and does it really matter. I'm confused about which version of Yishow to install. I am currently running Yishow 5.25 for Palm. This is OS5 compatible. I read in previous threads from others not to install the Yishow version for the Clie (use the Palm version instead). If I install skins for OS5 these should just show up no problem? My experience with Yishow has been very quirky thus far.
My second question concerns wallpaper in Yishow. I have downloaded wallpaper to the wallpaper directory in Yishow and only half of them show up. Does this problem mimic the skins problem? Do the wallpaper files need to also be OS5 compatible? Any help would be appreciated. I'm a novice who just purchased my NX model.

YiShow for Palm versus YiShow for Clie:
1) YiShow has two "versions" that work on different Clie hardware. The original YiShow for Clie worked on all Clie PDAs UNTIL they released the Clie NX with Palm OS 5 installed. At that point, Yi Bing did something odd and decided to make the "YiShow for Palm" be compatible with the new NX series, rather than make the "YiShow for Clie" work with it.
That means that ANY Clie NX/NZ or Palm OS 5 user should install "YiShow for Palm" to get it to work in hi-res mode.
ANY Clie OS 4.x user should install "YiShow for Clie" to get it to work in hi-res mode.
2) Since there are two versions of the YiShow program, it ended up requiring two versions of YiShow skins as well. Skins created for "YiShow for Clie" were just different enough that they wouldn't work with "YiShow for Palm" at all, and vise versa.
That means that ANY Clie NX/NZ or Palm OS 5 user can only use YiShow skins that were designed for the "YiShow for Palm" version of the launcher. There are very few such skins in existence right now, and all that I know of are hosted at http://www.yibing.net/english/palm_skin.htm
ANY Clie OS 4.x user can only use YiShow skins that were designed for the "YiShow for Clie" version of the launcher. There are a huge number of skins for YiShow for Clie on the internet. The majority of them are hosted at http://www.yibing.net/english/clie_skin.htm
3) BOTH VERSIONS OF YISHOW can use the same "wallpaper" or "background" images. There are NO version-specific wallpapers out there, you can use most JPEG (.jpg) and Bitmap (.bmp) images that are exactly the size of your screen (i.e. 320x320 or 320x480, depending on your PDA screen size).
Not all JPEG images will work though. If the JPEG image is a "Progressive JPEG" image, your Clie hardware is incapable of processing and displaying it. This has nothing to do with the YiShow program, it is just a limitation of the JPEG decoder in most Clies, from what I understand. Very few JPEGs are in this format, and most should work fine for you.
The most important factor with background images in YiShow is to get the size exactly right... if your image is not exactly 320x320 if you use a 320x320 screen, it won't appear in the Skin Manager program. If your image is not exactly 320x480 if you use a 320x480 screen, it won't appear in the Skin Manager either.
If you are using an earlier Clie (415, 615) you may not be able to use JPEG images. YiShow (and ZLauncher) need certain "JPEG Library" files on your PDA to properly use JPEG images... not all Clie models seem to have these library files. In those cases, the best advice I can give is to convert the JPEG images into Bitmap images before using them. They do take up more memory space on your MS that way, but they will take up the same space in RAM when used as a JPEG will. I don't know of a place to download the JPEG Library files yet, even though the ZLauncher documentation says that it is possible.
Hopefully that will help any new YiShow users out :)
Cheers.
