I have read all the threads and am obviously to new. I want to know the options that exist in wireless web browsing and my NX. I have called Sony and they say that the NX can only access the web through a LAN or wifi card? I want help with the best Phone and service for me. I currently own a Motorola 60c (web enabled). any suggestions for a new user who is confused with all the new terminology?

If you want to use the wireless service, you will need to get a wireless LAN CF card which at the moment only the Sony Wireless LAN CF card is compatible. We are all still waiting for a driver to use other brands which are cheaper. After getting the card, then you can get connected wirelessly only when you're around wifi hotspots ,usually in major airports. The most common one is at Starbucks cafe which they offer it free.
You can set up wifi at yourhome too. You would need a broadband connection,an access point and a Router.

I am confused I read this previously,"I don't have any problems in connecting to the internet via GPRS with my NX."
I am willing to buy any cellular Phone, modem, or service. is it still possible with or without the WiFi card to access in areas other than hotspots? I thank you for your prev. help.

Yes it is possible. You can either get an IR enabled phone or a phone cable to connect to the NX.So far only third party brands are available for the phone cables. For phones , I know that SonyErisson's T68, Nokia 8000/6000/7000series and most Siemens phones supports the NX. As for service providers, I'm sorry I cant recommend any as I'm not using them to connect via GPRS. Give a call to your service provider and ask them whether they have GPRS support.

If I set up my NX and home computer with the LAN CF, what can I expect for range? Also, can I access any internet page, or just those specifically set up for handheld browsing?

If no walls are between your NX and your Access Point, it'll be approximately 300 feet.
Unfortunately you cant just view just any web pages as it'll take up too much space in your NX.
PocketLink is not bad http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=68831420030210025201&prodID=16405
It supports OS5.

if you want to surf using a cell phone, you rather buy the bluetooth MS and a BT enabled cell phone.

the phone can be sit at your pocket or brifcase (upto 10m away from the clie) and surf wirelessly.
