There are USB cables that also have charge capability from the USB slot on the PC or laptop.
It takes a little longer to charge using USB, but okay otherwise.
Circuit City and Staples sell them, plus it has connector for a serial port.

Do you happen to know exactly which ones have charging capabilities?

I just read what was on the package. The cable is branded by Belkin. I think it was around $14.00 USD.

I find it rather silly that Sony didn't allow the cradle to charge the Clie via USB power. I mean, we have all these sync cables that charge up our Clie' just fine yet they couldn't allow this with the cradle? Sure, give us the OPTION to use the AC adapter, but at least connect up the power line on the USB port TOO.. *Sigh*
I guess it would prevent them from selling as many second AC adapters perhaps.

One could get a headache trying to figure out why Sony does things. It would have been nice to have the option, without buying extra cables. It goes to show that only Sony worries about it's own best interests, not the hard working consumer!:(

Well, if you are happened to be in the Asia Area, or better yet in HK, you could almost always find those cables in all those computer malls, and they won't cost your more than USD$10
