Happy Friends:

TOOK LONG VIDEO with clie upside down!!!

This is fine if viewed on the clie display screen,
as one can flip the image or just flip the screen
to watch the video upside up....

But upon transferring it to my desktop computer,
I cannot find a way to rotate the upside down
video and make the world right.

Can anyone please help me?

Thanks in advance. :) minsun45@hotmail.com

VirtualDub can rotate videos, I believe. http://www.virtualdub.org/
I don't have access to a PC right now to check, but it can do all sorts of things, that should be simple enough.

VirtualDub is *freeware* plus all the nice video editing features, such as tweaking the sound to 250% over the original, which makes it much more entertaining when viewing off the CLIE without head-phones. :D

Dear Friends,

If I could trouble you for your assistance again. Virtual Dub was able to rotate my upside down video - upon saving it as an .AVI file, though (and I believe that was the only option I had), the file expoded from a 500 MB file to a 12.5 GB file...

Did I do something wrong along the way? Can Virtual Dub rotate my upside down video and save it again in its orginal format (mpeg)?

Thanks.

M

zennist;

You will need to use some sort of compression, as the file you have saved is un-compressed!

Open virtualdub with your original file, and do exactly the same as you did before to rotate the video. Then, goto Video, and choose compression, then select a codec (DivX is best, www.divx.com (http://www.divx.com), or choose MicroSoft Mpeg-4). Next goto Audio, and choose compression again, then choose an MP3 codec or whaterver you prefer.

Now save your movie and it should be a reasonable file size! It may be a little bigger than your MEPG, but alot LOT smaller than 12GIG!

Cheers,

Matt

I think VirtualDub only saves to *.avi formats. But you might want to check the video settings, perhaps choose a certain compression, then the output file size might be smaller. :)

I often use the IndeoR Video5.10 compression setting & it works alright. You can also decrease the Quality from the original 100% to 90% which would still be OK.

you can also use a program called "vegas video" from Sonic Foundry. I use that a lot and it is more of a full editing program, but it's easy to learn, and saves MANY file formats, the only downside is rendering time and price. but if you'd like, check it out at www.sonicfoundry.com
