Greetings, friends!

I've had my faithful NX70V since December '02 (i.e., about 8 months). I use it daily, drop it into the crade to charge any opportunity I get, even if it is only for a few minutes. Recently, the battery seems to be discharging quicker than it when it was new. On the other hand, I have been using more, too. So, I'm not sure if perhaps the battery's capacity is beginning to wane, or if I'm just not aware of how much I'm using it.

I will be traveling soon, so having the unit in peak operating condition is high on my list of priorities.

How long do these batteries generally last? What are the signs which indicate one needs to be replaced?

Are better batteries available than the one which comes with the unit? Better endurance?

When the battery is replaced, what happens to all of my files and programs? Are they preserved, or does disconnecting the battery wipe everything out?

Thanks!

As long as it still holds a charge and get sufficient runtime.

2.5 to 5.0 hours runtime depending on what's being used.

Battery technology hasn't changed for the NX70.

When you replace the battery, it will wipe the Clie clean.

Make a few good backups with MS Backup!!!

There is a free app called Battery Graph in the CS File section written by one of our own members. You can use that to track the battery's life.
