download adobe acrobat reader for palm devices from the adobe site.
it comes with a conduit for syncing pdf's to your clie. i don't have it installed on my clie at this time, but i don't remember having any trouble with it before.

Is the Mac client still a Classic app or does Adobe have an OS X version?

It is OSX Just about. It does work in MacOsX. Check in the Finder, Select "acroDesktop", Go to get info in the File Menu and in the resulting window uncheck the box next to the "open in the Classic environment" It now runs badly in X.
To quit you need to select it in the file menu and not the Application (bold app name) menu or dock popup menu. Also it looks like crap. The conduit also crashes PalmDesktop4 when changing the settings but that can be delt with. Don't convert massive documents >200pages since I have found that it starts filling the hard disk needlesly. I once filled around 2GB of space on my iBook (with 10Gb HD) argh!!!!!!!.
It does work in X though.

interesting:confused:
i guess i'll need to give that a try, however, since adobe is able to make other things run well in osx, i don't think we can really consider something with the problems you describe as being osx compatible - it was these kind of crashing problems thatmade me leave the windohs world for mac heaven.
