 I want to connect to the internet with my NX70. I would prefer to do so via my cell phone, using my dial-up ISP. I have been unable to figure this out. I would appreciate ANY advice.

Here are some additional considerations related to my situation.

First, I live in the technological "dead zone" of Northern Arkansas. So, answers/resources don't exist here. I moved here 5 years ago from Dallas, and am still suffering from technology withdrawal.

Second, there are no hi-tech cell carriers here. Cingular (my provider) and Alltel....that's it! Cingular just got GSM September 1. Alltell just got digital. There's no T-Mobile, no PCS, no AT&T and no Verizon. We just watch the commercials on TV and dream.

Third, I am prepared to purchase a new cell phone, wireless LAN card, bluetooth MS, or whatever it takes.

WHAT CAN I DO?

Oh, come-on guys! The first time I posted, I got bunches of views, but absolutely NO replies. Why do some of the bonehead posts get replies and I can't get any? I am not a Clie power-user, and I don't think my questions are stupid.

So, I decide to give it one more try. Granted, it's only been a few hours, but here we go again......ZERO replies.

Can someone please talk to me?

I've got a Verizon Startac and a data cable that lets me check email and surf, although very slowly. Its great for text email though. I'm not familiar the two providers you listed, but I would think you could get at least a cable to connect the phones they offer with your NX70. I was surprised at how little the Verizon people knew about PDA connections. If its not their brand of PDA phone, they kinda shrug their shoulders.

I first looked at the phone models they offered with their deals, then checked on the web what cablels were available. THESUPPLYNET.com is a good place to start.

An even better place for cables.

Most of the wireless is in the wireless forum.

Thanks to you guys that responded. I checked with Cingular here. They do support data transmission. There is no extra charge to use my phone as a modem to connect to my ISP.

I'm happy now.:)
