I just recently got a new NX80V and I have been surfing Cliesource a lot recently because it has tons of information. I have posted a few things as a Unregistered guest but I figured if I am going to be posting more things here I should register. This is my first thread as a registered user.

One thing I like to use my camera for is to take pictures since I sometimes have it when I do not have my camera (Canon ELPH S230- great camera). However, one thing I do not like about the NX80V camera is that there is no macro mode so all my close up pictures come up blurry. I surfed some photography sites and found that some people use a magnifying lens with there cameras as a cheap way to get macro shots which is the similar to the close up filters for cameras. Sure there will be some distortion at the edges, but at least the pictures are much better in focus. I just use a cheap $5 maginfying glass which I got from CVS. If would great if Sony would include a macro filter in addition to their ND filter but I doubt they ever will.

Hope this helps people get more use out of their cameras. :)

Yes, the same happens to me.
I cant take pictures with the object placed very closer cos it shows blurry in the screen.
I really ask if it would be any solution for this

This will happen with any camera that does not have a zoom function (IE: Disposable cameras), as the camera cannot automatically adjust it's focus. Using a magnifying glass or magnifying filter is more of a Hack than a true solution.

Give it a year or so. As more devices (cell phones and PDA's) start including built in digital cameras, the hardware manufacturers will have to start competing more on this level just as with every other technical spec (memory, processor speed, etc). Within 1 or 2 generations we will likely have NX sized handhelds with built in 2mp cameras with Flash & Zoom. Well, maybe not flash ... depends on what size battery they can squeeze in there ...

The camera has fixed focus lens with a small aperature. Adding auto focus and macro would require considerable mechanical hardware to be added to the Clie. The price would then be a lot higher.

I think one of the PalmPix cameras had a macro mode. Obviously those cameras were larger and more cumbersome, but at least it's something that PDA manufacturers / accessory makers have considered before. I'd like this feature too. There's lots of times I need to take a photo-note of a small object.

There are some new developments in camera lens development on www.MobileMag.com (http://www.MobileMag.com).

"<B>Camera Phones may soon have a Zoom Lens</B>

Limited of Cambridge, UK, has found a novel way to make a thin sheet of a piezoelectric ceramic material work like a motor." http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/336/C1962/

"<B>Sharp Introduces tiny Megapixel Camera Module - LZ0P3721</B>

1. Smallest mega-pixel CCD camera module in the industry (cubic measurement: 1.44cc)

4. Incorporating a high-powered electronic zoom function

<B>5.</B> Also announcing the LZ0P3726 featurs built-in macro (close-up photography) function " http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/336/C1947/

However, those are not available yet so until then I will have to continue using my magnifying glass.

I will try this again. I tried before but could not get the attachment to work.

Here are some pictures I took of a 1.5" pair of souvenir wooden shoes from Holland at 3" away. I took pictures without the magnifying glass, with the magnifying glass, and with the extra magnification of the bifocal part of the magnifying glass.

I previously tried adding the pictures at 1280 x 960 but the website said it was too big. I am taking these at 640x 480. The pictures were better at 1280 x 960.

If anyone knows how to add more than one attachment at a time, let me know. I could not get it to work.

I will try again with another picture since the attachement did not work.
