Alright, here is my predicament.

I have a few programs from Sony Japan that I really like - the only problem is they are in Japanese. Unfortunately my clié does not support Japanese; However, I heard from one of my friends that he used to have Japanese support on his palm which would even convert written romaji into kana (such as k and a into the symbol for ka) - does anyone know of a program that would permit me to view programs in Japanese? Thanks for your help.

CJKOS would allow you to input Japanese Characters on an English OS. :D

think it will support applications that are in Japanese too. not sure about that, since haven't used it for a long time.

You can get CJKOS here:
http://www.dyts.com/en/index.html

Alternatively you can get JOS V (for Palm OS 4 and 4.1) here:

Oops looks like JOS / V doesn't work on Hi-Res screens.

But J-Suites for Clie does the same thing! :D
It's also by the same author as JOS V and it only works on Palm OS 3.5 - 4.1 Hi-Res Clies.

If you don't need to write anything in Japanese you can use Yomeru (http://www.geocities.com/b_palm_ug/yomeru.html) . It has a small footprint and haven't found any major problems with it. However, I haven't tried it on a OS 5 machine.
