Okay im at my wits end with this!
I've never had a problem with MS Import before. Ever since I got my MS reader I haven't been using the import function anymore. However, I tried using it today and yesterday and it gave me a fatal alert as soon as I run the application. I just click on my MSImport application and bam, I get a fatal error.
It says Fatal Alert
SystemMgr.c,Line:5804,
SysLinkerStub():Failed to
load the shared library
and then asks me to reset.
Any idea what's causing this? The only thing I could think of was me installing Windows XP on my computer over Win2000? I did a reinstall of my TG50 install cd and MXExport ms driver, yet I get the same problem.
Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Do you get that same error with the Clie out of the cradle?
If so, then the issue is on the Clie itself. Backup the Clie, and do a hard reset. Before you restore your softwares, see if the issue is still there, if not, then you have something that is corrupted.

After a hard reset, it seems to work, but after I install all of my apps, yep I get the problem.
Oh yeah and it is a problem with the clie itself because I get the same Fatal Error when the clie is out of the cradle. Hmmm. Any ideas?

If you mean that I have a fast quick easy fix, unfortunately no.
First step is to disable the obvious stuff, like hacks, drivers, external keyboards, or anything that hooks into the OS.
The memory on these devices is all too easily corrupted, fixing it is something else.
Essentially, it boils down to it being almost anything, a missing driver, one that was replaced by something else. There have been issues with HotSync and clashes, but of the time for Data Import has been the PC itself, but not in this case. Usually it's to fix it by process of elimination, either by deleting, disabling, or reinstalling from scratch.:(

Hey yOyOYoo,
Did you by chance ever find out was program or hack was the problem...? I just started having the same problem on my NX 70, I have an 80 as well, with the exact same setup, and it does not have any issues! As Larry mentioned, it is definitely a Clie related problem...just don't know what it could be, other than PXA Clocker, and when I disable it I still have the same problem...I think I'll try deleting it (I can always restore it from my backup) and see if that's the culprit...if not.........who knows.

Nope...it's not PXA Clocker...I just uninstalled it (Yes...completely...) and still having the problem.

Over time, there have been a myraid of issues concerning HotSync and MS Import problems.
There have been hardware failures, such as a defective cradle, damaged USB ports on the PC/Clie, USB hub issues, device clashes on the desktop PC(zip drives, 6 in 1 card readers, printers with built-in readers), sometimes a soft reset, or corrupted PC drivers!
In most cases, it has to be narrowed down by process of elimination. Sorry, I don't have any magical solutions! Sounds like you have at least eliminated one potential cause.
I wish I had an easy answer, it pains me to see others struggle with this dilemma!:( I have not yet come across anyone else with a one size fits all solution.
BTW, forget Sony, they're no help at all. They will tell you to redo the PC's operating system, after you format the PC's hard drive.

Yeah, I know about Sony's version of help.......hehehe
I did a hard reset and restored from my backup and voila! Everything works fine...so I'm happy that it works now, just wish I knew what happened...the funny thing is I hadn't installed any new software on the NX70, so it makes no sense....oh well, at least it works fine! BTW Larry, did you already get the UX or are you sticking to the NX80?
