Hey I have a quick question. How do you get the data import with the CF drivers to work? I hit connect and all it does is stall out and it does't pull up a removeable drive on the computer. I just need a way to directly transfer to my CF card without an external port. Much thanks

What type of Clie are you using?
Thanks,

One more question -
Do you have a memory stick you can use as an "intermediary" memory to transfer the data to? You could then use one of the file utilities to copy the data from the MS to the CF card.
Thanks,
Bawko

Try removing and reinserting your Clie in it's cradle while Data Import is running. Sometimes this causes it to be recognized.

Did you install Data Import on the Clie?
Did you uninstall MS Export before installing Data Export on your PC?

OK i have this setup, I have a compact flash card 256 and a sony memory stick (one of the purple ones). What I am doing currently is transfering from the computer to the MS then internaly on the clie from MS to CF using the filez program on my clie. oh and also, what is Data export? I didn't get it with the drivers I'm using on my clie. If you could please direct me to where I could get that. Also, one more quick question. I can play mp3's directly off my CF card only (i have the new audioplayer) when my memory stick isn't plugged in. When i stick the memory stick in with the CF it either says there's an internal error, or it talks about the copyright etc. Do you guys think I'll have to buy a MS magicgate as my MS card I'll us to mask? or is there another way around that?
Thanks for all your help guys.

reader my instructions on the CompactFlash forums:
http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24712
Basically you have to run the setup.exe that came with the CFUtility.zip file, and that will install the drivers in C:\Program Files\Sony\CLIE SCSI Driver
So when you put the clie on the cradle, and go to DataImport, click on CF at the top and click connect, it will attempt to install the drivers. Make sure you tell it (advanced instead of recommedned), to look in that folder for the drivers...that's all there is too it (remember to have the MS Pro UPDATES installed prior to this)

try installing the drivers on the PC, as trayip suggested... but you have to uninstall MS Export (on the PC) as suggested by n2ifp. Did you do that allready?

Alrighty, I did everything, installed the hacked CF drivers for my Clie with the Data Import. I uninstalled MS Export, then installed the Clie Drivers included in the Pelaca stuff. Then i reinstalled the MS Export which triggered the install of the CLIE SCI drivers. Now when i sent it up, it says connected on my PDA, however, when ever i search for a new driver it comes up with the USBNTMAP.inf as the driver, it's the only one it lists. so where do i go from here?
THanks

then go to the control panel and system and then devince manager. click on USB devices and look for the USB STORAGE (CF), it'll look something like that. Then click on it, and click update driver and you wanna change the driver...

Ok, first start DataImport on the CLIE. Now go to the device manager and click on Disk Drives. You should see a SONY CLIE CF USB DEVICE. There, you should update the drivers (right click and lclick on update driver...). If it is not there, then you don't have it installed...you should uninstall the CF UTILITY and MS EXPORT (i don't even use that, it's poinless). Then you try reinstalling it using dataimport and connecting and loading up the drivers.
HMMMMMM
You know what you can do....If you have another port for your USB, then you can plug the hotsync cradle in another port and then you can set it up again in a new USB port...that would work...
