Ohayo-Gozaimasu!

Going to Japan for a month. I'm gonna get me a Japanese version of the SJ33? According to this link,

http://www.jp.sonystyle.com/peg/Store/Clie/Sj33/Sj33_black/

It costs 29,800 yen, which when I used the lowest Yen rate in the last couple of days (119 yen to the dollar) I got $251. Not a bad savings.

Here's some more on the SJ33,

Have Fun!!!

Hi.

Humm. Could you buy one for me???
I'm a Japanese but I can't go back to Japan only for SJ33...

Yes, the menus and everything are in Japanese... But it won't be a big deal. You can use English version of softwares as well.
But only one thing the Grafiti area is smaller than regular English ver.(about 1/4 inch)
It might bother you for a while until you get used to it.

P.S. Ohayo is only for morning.
Ohayo --- morning
Konnichiwa --- noon
Konbanwa --- evening

Have fun in Japan!:D

Isn't there a Palm OS program out there that can translate a foreign OS to an English version? No one knows if the SJ33 has Flash ROM so it isn't completely known if you could flash it to an English OS.

I've never heard anything like "Palm OS program out there that can translate a foreign OS to an English version"

You can use English programs without any problem, I guess. But still, Prefs or menus of basic applications are in Japanese.

I don't think you can turn a Japanese device to an English OS device. There are many Japanese people who want to use English model as Japanese model in Japan. You can use a software, "J-OS" to use Japanese character and type it on English device. but I've never heard somebody could change the OS itself.

I like English one more than Japanese one, coz the grafiti area is much wider.
