Man, I just knew it was too good to be true. I just got this email from Harmony:

"Dear Customer,
We apologize for the delay in your order. Our next shipment of Sony UX40/UX50 is expected to arrive on September 12th. We will ship all orders as soon as they come into stock. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

I have a funny feeling that ANY retailer is going to have the same issue.

Given the other posts warning about this place, I would seriously consider shopping around to buy your UX50 somewhere else. Harmony is doing exactly the kind of thing another poster described. Seems to be there MO. That and their false lowball pricing puts them just on the right side of the law, but they're definitely way over the line on ethical behavior. I would buy mine somewhere else and cancel my order with them. From what has been said about Harmony, it may not even ship on the 12th. Make sure they haven't already charged your credit card, too.

I cancelled my Harmony order. I'd rather pay more with Sony and not get jerked around. I hate that type of business practice that Harmony displays. Reel the customer in, then drop the hammer. Whatever. They hadn't charged my card yet, which is a good thing.

I agree! We all knew that it should have been 12th as the release date. Very misleading n uncalled for! In fact, earlier threads mentioned that they (Harmony) actually ship a lot later than what they advertise...

I agree as well that you made a good decision. I don't trust those guys. It's the stereotypical NYC discount electronics/camera shop come true. It's companies like Harmony that give all the legit NYC shops a bad name. Promise anything to get your money in and hope that only a few will actually cancel their orders. Stay away from those guys...they're bad news.

How bad is Harmony? As a student, I don't have too much money...and I like their prices ;) (no matter how late they ship 'em)
