What is everyone elses opinion on Decuma?
I absolutely love it. Decuma probably sealed the deal on me upgrading to a NX80. Not only does inputing seem more natural, it is almost infinitely faster. My inputing is actually efficient enough right now that I can take pretty good notes during conferences.

I like Decuma, but I'm more used to graffiti, so if I have to write fast I use Graffiti, if I want to impress someone I use Decuma :D

I would like to switch back and forth but using OKey for up and down arrows covers the swap icon.
I would like to solve this problem.

Decuma was too slow and awkward for me, I've been using graffiti since the original ORIGINAL palms. Graffiti 2 just plain ticks me off. I've got about 10ish years of graffiting and they change it on me.
got nx80, and 30 mintues later found how to restore old graffiti, and then 5 more minutes and it was done.

For the last few years, I thought Graffiti was fine. Then I tried Decuma. G2 doesn't even get touched on my NX80v. As soon as I reset, I immediately swap out the VG skin in favor of Decuma. It's been nothing but a blessing to me. If you fine tune the letters just right, you can get it perfectly. The last time Decuma gave me an error was probably last week. And I sometimes write up posts on it.

To switch back and forth between graffiti and Decuma, just do a horizontal swipe with your stylus on the status bar from left to right. YOu can start anwhere u want, just make sure the swipe is about 3cm long at least.

I played with decuma last night. It's really not that bad. once I got into it, It worked quite well, but i'm still a bijillion times faster on graffitti. But I think I got my first pilot in 95-96, maybe earlier, when the first units were introduced, So I've beeen brainwashed to the point where I write "graffiti" in real life. I look at my handwritten notes and see I've put 7's where t's should be. and only write half the K's (<) hdhehe oh well.

Nope, I've got other skins. It'll take three swipes to the right to get there, and it's a real pain This app solves the problem.

Can someone point me in the direction of where I can find more info on it and/or a purchasing website? Much thanks.

When I installed Decuma on my NZ-90/U, I was not sure what to expect (like maybe a crash and a need to do a hard reset). To my surprise it loaded flawlessly and after reviewing the tutorials on the Decuma website, attempted to use it.
As someone who is at a beginner-intermediate level user on graffiti, ( and who has Graffiti Everywhere 2) I found Decuma easy to use and a little faster than it. One very interesting observation that I noticed about the program was the speed it was able to adapt to my handwriting. The standard Sony graffiti and the GE2 took some time to use and to adapt to my handwriting style. I was using Decuma about 5 minutes after loading it. In some respect it might make graffiti users lazy, but it is such a good program that Sony should install it in the Flash ROM of every future high end Clie.
Cheers :)

Currently it's for OS5 and only the Japanese version is available for sale. CliesSource will remove any links for a Decuma download as they and Sony are watching. If you need to test it, I suggest emailing someone who has it. If you go to Sony's support site for the NX80, you can also download the manual.
The Decuma website: http://www.decuma.com/pages/products/latin_recognition.html
The English version is called Decuma Latin.

I was practised at graffiti (1) but with upgrade to nx80, I just love Decuma. I`m having a little trouble 'ungraffitting' my writing, espically not always writing in uppercase, or exgratting letters, buts a small learning curve :)
I found Decuma on a Japanese NX80V almost impossible to use. There's no customization allowed at all, and the difference between small and large characters seems almost random. It doesn't seem to matter if I write a big S or a small s it capitalizes it almost every time. Other charachters (w, z, x, c, m) have the same problem too. I gave up and went back to JOT.
It is good for writing Kanji though. :D
