I've just been comparing Wordsmith and Docs2Go and it seems to me that Docs2Go is much better.

1) It can put the files in different categories, i didn't see wordsmith do that easily (or i'm just stupid..which is probably true cause i think wordsmith can do something like that)

2) Docs2Go can make Tables and Lists (bulleted and numbered) and wordsmith can't

3) Docs2Go looks cleaner and never fails me..Wordsmith just crashed a second ago when i changed something (i don't remember what - it was a checkbox for something that i checked, and i started to type and it crashed).

4) I use Docs2Go for the excel already, and why have 2 word processors, WordtoGo is awesome by itself anyway.

the ONLY thing it doesn't have is spellcheck and thesaurus check...but i can use my PC for that..SHEESH :)

Hmm....Has anyone else had crashes with DocsToGo? And if so, which version? Cause i'm going to be using this in class, and i REALLY don't want it to crash or i'll kill myself.....Will the autosave feature work and save even if it crashes in the newest version?
Anyone know?

I love wordsmith. Prefer the interface, find it transfers file formatting back and forth better, and even prefer the font (wished more programs utilized finetype). All of that is opinion though.

Docs to go has never crashed on me but has regularly lost formatting in transfers to the computer. Docs to go takes considerably longer when hotsyncing, although this may not be a problem if you already use it for spreadsheets. I also prefer the way that Wordsmith saves in .rtf file type, which can be read by almost any operating system (including that of my Linux toting friends). Futhermore, I find Wordsmith faster to respond on my Palm (except for spell checking, which is admittedly beyond slow, even using a limited dictionary).

And, just to throw it out there, you may want to try quickoffice. I use it for spreadsheets and prefer it to docs to go.

I'm using word smith now.. don't get doc to go... crashed on me too. Actually, i like Mobile words 2003 a lot.. used to demo but decided not to pay as i've already got word smith. If you don't have any, consider MobileWord 2003

Been a Wordmith fan since it was released. Never crashed on me once, and that's through a Vx all the way up to an NX80 (passed through a IIIc and NR70V on the way). Of course, I'd love to have a wordprocessing app that could handle MS Word docs natively...

Still, Wordsmith has been an amazingly reliable and useful application for me, and I love that I can use FineType to import my favorite fonts. In many respects, it's far superior to PocketWord on the PPC platform, which I have used extensively, thanks to my HP568 and Stowaway.

On the other hand, I don't have any experience with Docs2Go, so in the end, I guess I can't really comment with any authority on this topic...

Just my $0.02

I had dumped Docs to Go Premium and now just use Wordsmith. For viewing other documents, spreadsheets, I use RepliGo and Picsel Viewer.

Docs to go has never given me any problems. You really need to try them both. I own both but use Docs2Go. I will admit that Wordsmith is better looking on the handheld.

I've actually got both. I originally started with Docs 2 Go but found that i needed a spell check and the ability to print my documents directly from my Clie.

Wordsmith does that......

I have docs2go and am thinking of switching to wordsmith or mobileword2003. Can anyone give me some comparisons or maybe some info on mobile word? By the way Docs2Go has served me well, but im up for some change.

I've had both crash on my, but usually while doing strange things. Wordsmith to me just looks and acts nicer. if docs2go took better advantage of the hires and hires+ screens, I might make a better impression. Doc2Go came free with my sony, yet I rather buy wordsmith.

I previously had both Words to Go and Wordsmith on my T665 (Words to Go came free, and I purchased Wordsmith)

Found myself ONLY using Wordsmith!

Since I upgraded to an NX80, I haven't even bothered to install Words to Go... just never used it.

I've used Wordsmith ten times a day for almost two years and it's never crashed on me. It's handled Word docs very well and the few times that it's screwed things up it has saved all my data in a backup that takes thirty seconds to fix. Font support is exceptional and it makes a decent ebook reader. The only things on my wishlist would be native Word doc and landscape support. Otherwise it's the most valuable progam I own.

Wordsmith is my favorite WP. Finetype is great and allows the use of non western fonts like Greek in my Wordsmith documents. I still use DTG but only the spreadsheet function. I deleted the DTG WP to save room.

I use both Wordsmith and Documents to Go. I have not had problems with either one crashing. I like Wordsmith better, but DtG has some things it does not. So I use which ever is best. Put DtG on a memory stick so it doesn't take up so much space! Map Wordsmith to the memo button because it will edit memos too and allow text formating.

I use WordSmith for any serious document editing and use DTG for taking notes in meetings using its multilevel bulleting support. Once WS supports this, DTG will G.

I have tried them both extensively, and although both have problems, Wordsmith is generally superior.

Wordsmith acts weird on my NR70V. At first, after launched it shows the list of docs fine with hires font display; when open a doc it shows nice hires display. Then, after closing the doc editing to return to the list, all of the sudden, the display turns to low res. That was ugly!!! It just behaves like this all the time.

Wordsmith is nice with the integration with spell check and thesaurus, but I hate the low res switching behavior. Anyone know how to fix this?

Can DTG do spell checking?

I just registered the free copy of DTG from my nx70, and installed new vesrion on my NX80. MUCH beter hires support. I'll give it a shot again.

I have both on my nx70. Use docs2go for spreadsheets and docs with tables, wordsmith for everything else. I wonder if anyone has noticed, but if you copy and paste from the web or avantgo, it looks terrible in docs2go but looks great in wordsmith.

I would love to dump docs2go for picsel viewer, but where can I get it?

You guys might think I'm crazy, but I have DTG, Wordsmith and Quickoffice.

Naturally DTG came with my clie but I wanted wordsmith because it did a great job of notetaking in class. Then I bought QO with native file support so that I could keep important docs like my resume so that I could give it to someone on their desktop computer. Of corse, the good thing is, I can exchange documents with all 3 formats and I can print from any of the apps since QO Premiere comes with PrintBoy for free.

I also dumped Docs to Go and only use Wordsmith. It is better but it has other problems.

Yes, Wordsmith has better high resolution anti-aliasing fonts than Docus to go. But I find that the fonts are like a bit double vision on my NX80V compared to my previous 665C. It also seems that the smallest font ain't that small too as compared to DocstoGo. I am now currrently using DocustoGo, due to the ease in using bullets and the word are significantly smaller than Wordsmith.

Now if only the anti-alaising fonts are on DocstoGo too...

WS is just great, but I actually don't like one thing
it uses the default WS font even in the memo part what I don't like and would like to use the system font there
but I found memo+ just for my memos, eventhough I'd rather drop memo+ and have just one notepad ..

No crashes from either as I own both. I actually dumped WordSmith and TinySheet for Documents to Go Premium.
