View Full Version : Physical Problems?
Has anyone here had their TG50 break on them, or some how become physically defective? Whether its dust under the screen, parts fallen off or broken, discoloration on screen, or anything else?
Thanks and share your stories.
Edit: Oh, and has anyone here given their TG50 back to the store or to Sony to get repaired or any other reason?

I have like 2 tiny dusts under my screen that simply blend in with the dust on top of the screen (from my pocket).
Obviously dust doesn't show up since the screen is so bright. Even at 0% I can't see the dust.
I've had nothing break, but that white part at the top is a little loose. It doesn't matter since you can feel how strong the plastic is despite it being able to move about 0.5mm around.

The charge and voice recorder lights on the top bar went out on mine. Bluetooth light still works, though. I think it is (was) a loose connection because at first I could tap it on the side and they would come back on. Now they don't work at all. BTW, I did not drop the unit.
Also, the silver plastic piece around the jog dial popped half way out while in my pocket one day. I freaked out and snapped it back into place, and haven't had a problem with it since.
I have used my TG ALOT, so my wear-and-tear may be different from others. Best PDA I've ever owned, despite the minor problems I've had.

Same here. Minor issues compared to the beating I give it. One of the 2 bottom screws in the back came loose. I screwed it back in. No biggie. This guy's a little tank. No complaints.

Dust under screens shows up when the backlight is off and is much worse when using it in daylight. My TG doesn't have this problem, but my old ipaq did. It's more of an annoyance than anything, and you feel angry because your $400+ PDA has a defect right out of the box.

actually my pocket gave my tg50 the dust, it was pristine out of the box.
I don't use my clie outside so the dust never becomes a usuability problem.

Actually, I was referring to my old iPaq, which had dust in it right out of the box...But in any case, your TG had to have a defect in it to begin with if it's allowing dust in. I keep my TG in my pocket all the time, and no dust in mine :D
