Old Memory Stick new Clie

A friend of mine just had to return his SJ 30 because it would not hold a charge. He was given a new one in exchange. He dropped in the memory stick that had all his data from the old Clie into the new one and it wouldn't allow a restore. How does one get around this issue. I figured that my Memory Stick was my fail-safe, in case my desktop crashed and I destroyed my Clie from a bad fall.

The backup program reads model numbers. For example, my NR70 can't take a backup from my SJ30. Aparantly the backup program also reads serial numbers.

On a side note though. You can go into msgate and move to the backup folder and simply copy the files into ram. Its annoying as hell to do though.
