My SJ30 would be perfect if I could find a way to use a Stowaway keyboard with it. Anyone got a solution?.....Is there a slick little dongle that adapts the connectors?....has someone MADE one?....or is there some other simple solution that I am just not seeing?

Thanks,

Ray

Of course! Sony has come up with a great stowaway keyboard.....actually from a different company but thats a different story. You can buy it off sony.com Great keyboard! I use it in class and to take notes on instead of lugging around a laptop. Works flawlessly. I'd highly reccommend getting one and using Wordsmith with it.

Ah....silly me. I was trying to go directly to Targus. Guess I will just cough up the extra $20 and get the Sony branded version of what looks to be the exact same keyboard. Hmmmm......I wonder why Targus supports other Clie models but not the SJ30? Or could it be that they have an agreement to NOT support the CURRENT models so that Sony can make an extra buck.....nah, Sony would never do something like that. <grin>

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction on this one.

All the Stowaway (and Stowaway XT or Ultra-Thin) Keyboards or "Palm Portable Keyboards" are designed and made by Think Outside.

Think Outside has 'exclusive' contracts with Palm, but sells to other distributes. The connector is different on the two PDAs, so it involves a different license agreement (or lack there-of <grin>).

BTW: Each version of the KB runs the same Driver (with minor variations for branding). Actually, some special things were done for Kyocera, but the rest are mainly AboutBox / icon differences.

Don't you just love user forums? Thanks for the great info!

Yeah, I bought mine from a retailer, mainly because I hate IR keyboards and this one works with my SJ30 and my NR70.

Does anyone know if/when the Stowaway XT will be available for CLIE's.

SJ 20 specifically.

Fellowes will be releasing an XT under their label soon. They showed it at CES in early January in Las Vegas. I understand "Spring" is the release date.

Did you see the Fellowes keyboard? Is it the same as the Thinkoutside model. -> Extremely small and rigid so you can use it on your lap?

Fellowes is selling the Think Outside products under their own brand. The KBs shown were for the Clie's "T-style" connector and worked with the NX.
