Not sure if this has been asked before but I just update to a new mac g4 w/10.2.6 os. I was able to sync to palm but I can't seem to mount the ms to my desktop. Trying to load new mp3 or management of the ms becomes a hassle. Any ideas?
Advance thanks to all.

This is not supported out of the box, you'll need a program called Missing Sync which is found at http://www.markspace.com/
It allows you to mount the MS on the desktop and in iTunes and iPhoto, and also allows those Clies which can't sync at all with Macs to do so.

For a simple mp3 solution, the Lexar JumpDrive Trio ( $20.00 at Best buy/ CompUSA) will automount as a removeable drive in OSX without any driver installs. It holds your clie's MS stick. You can the drag n' drop mp3's to you MS in /PALM/PROGRAMS/MSAUDIO, put you MS back in your clie and your good to go.
You can even use this method to export you purchases from iTunes Music Store to mp3 and put on your MS,
The Trio additionally supports MS Pro if you ever go that route.

Thank you for your help. I should have given a better description.
I'm currently using Missing Sync for my Mac 10.2.6. It has worked before I changed my system to 1ghz g4 desktop. Prior, my nx70V was mounting to my desktop. I was able to upload mp3 files via Itune with no problem. But now, no luck.
I'll look into the Lexa jumpdrive trio as 21stcenturymac suggested (Thanks).

A more comprehensive solution was just posted here:

As for me, the main thing I do with my clie on my Mac-side (I use Virtual PC with WinME) is copy my iTunes mp3's to my ms - so the JumpDrive works great.

There has to be a better way than going via Virtual PC. Since it has worked before, I'm just baffle why it didn't do it this time around.
I did download the latest version of Missing Sync. I'll contact Markspace for additional support.
Thank you all for your help.

You no longer need Missing Sync or virtual PC to get the MS mounted under OSX, here's a link to thread above this one: :)

I finally was able to mount the ms again. I went to Markspace and down load an updated version to 3.0.8 and now it's work. Though I had a couple of good ideas from all of you. Thanks again.

I have tried loading MP3 files via a card reader and get lots of extra files, I assume these are resource fork files. Is there any way of stopping these loading or do I just have to delete them when I put the ms into my Clié. Loading MP3 files via HotSync is rather slow so I would like to use the card reader if possible.

The Mac OS adds small system files to any volume mounted.
Under OS X, .Trashes (~82bytes) and .DS STORE (~7k) will be added to your MS root directory, and .DS STORE to each subdirectory visited while on your Mac.
Under OS 9, Your MS root directory will get: TheVolumeSettingsFolder (~940bytes), Desktop DB (~32k), Desktop DF (~235k), File ID.DAT (~2.31k), Finder.DAT (~2.80k) and RESOURCE.FRK (folder) - (~102k) plus some of those added to each subdirectory visited while on your Mac.
These file will not affect the function of your Clie AudioPlayer or anything else. They may all be safely deleted from the MS but will be recreated each time the MS is mounted on your Mac. They have always been there.
A small price to pay for Drag n' Drop MP3's on your Mac! :D

Thanks for the help. This is my first PDA and I am glad that this forum exists to help. So far I am impressed with the Clie and look forward to finding out what else it can do.

they do affect the MP3 player.. and they affect the flash player..
rather, they show up and dont work, I wish you could turn that off for specific volumes..
Somebody should write an app (either for the Clie or to be run on the Mac, if possible) that automatically removes all those little Mac files from your MS. It would be great if this were part of Missing Sync. When do those files get written? Would it be possible to write an Applescript that would just search the MS for those files, delete them, and then eject the MS? This is one of my highest-priority dream apps!
