when i was still using an OS 3.5/4.1 handheld, there was this app that i was using that removed unecessary files from RAM... sort of a memory defragger that removes "old" preferences, settings, left-over temp files, etc. etc. at the moment i have forgotten the name of that app, but what i would like to know is if there is an equivalent app for a PalmOS5-based handheld (just like the NX)?

moreso, since im using an all-around MS to store all my DocsToGo files, rarely-used apps, and some MP3s... the MS really gets used very much - data in AND data out... i may be mistaken, but if the MS file system is to be compared to a Windows-based harddisk; then it would have been really fragmented by now... does anyone know of any app that DEFRAGS memsticks?

thanks a lot...

Yes you can defrag the MS, but Sony doesn't recommend it. It can reduce the life span of the stick. You could copy the contents to your hard drive, format the stick and copy all your files back. Any defrag program will work as long as the MS is seen as a drive. Additionally, files aren't stored the same way or have a mechanical mechanism to store and find files like a hard drive does.

The best way to prevent leftover debris from old software is to use the OEM luancher's Menu delete.

One tool that I use on my NX is called 'Systool', but it requires user input and knowledge for deleting the right files.
