I tried to extract the photos taken with my NX by inserting the MS (which has not been formatted by PC or Ti-book)into the PC Card slot of Ti-book. However, the MacOS could not recognize the MS (it did before if the MS was formatted). I tried the same in my notebook PC but the notebook tends to format the MS. After putting the MS back to NX, it could not be recognized anymore!

Can anyone help me to solve the problem and save my photos.

Thanks

Do you have a Windoze PC with MS access that has drive error checking on it? I use Norton's Disk Doctor to fix errors on the memory stick. You may have corrupted it. I know nothing about a MAC, so I can't help you there.

I have a MS card reader on my Ti-book and it shows up just fine. But I'm running OS X. I remember in OS 9 you had to install Sony drivers that came with the PC Card.

The best way to format the card is through the NX. Not through the Mac nor the PC. I believe the Mac will make it a Mac volume and the PC will make it a PC volume, not a Clie volume.

Thanks for your replies.

I have win2000 at work and MacOSX at home. My craddle is set at work.
I have no problem in extract the photos taken by my NX with a 64MS
bought long time ago for the Sony DC. I remember the 64MS should have
been formatted in PC.

For this new 128MS bought solely for the NX, I just inserted in the MS
slot and syarted storing the data, installing apps and taking pictures.
The 128MS has never been inserted into a PC or Ti-book. Now that
this
MS could neither be recognized by the NX, win nor the Mac. I have only
Norton Utilities for Mac but not windoze. I'm worry to lose the
pictures taken with my old friend who was just met at the street corner
after his leaving the office 10 years ago!

Regards!

Please, don't give up, it sounds like you have everything in all the wrong places. When you get to work, can you try MS Import? Win 2K may have a built-in error checking app similiar to NDD. Good luck and I hope you can retrieve the pics!

n2ifp,

Thanks for your support.

I'm back to work but the MS Import in win2K It only recognizes the Clie as an external storage device but detects no MS inserted!! The Clie keeps asking to format and erase ALL data on the external device whenever I insert the MS into the slot. Should I give up and format the MS?

I've eventually recovered the pics from the corrupted MS by downlaoding a "data recovery" freeware from the internet. Although part of the pics was damaged, the overall result is encouraging!

Now that I have to face another problem of re-installing all the apps and data back to the formatted MS. It would be a painful task for me. Should there be an easier way to "back up & restore" the MS itself?
